TNA LOCKDOWN CELEBRITY MATCH UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-03-20 10:25:24

Danny Bonaduce vs. Eric Young has been officially added to the 4/19 TNA Lockdown PPV as Young and Jeremy Borash were on Bonaduce's Philadelphia radio show this morning shooting an angle that went out over the air.

Young signed a contract for the match and when Bonaduce became insulting, Young retorted by calling him a "D List celebrity" getting by on a crazy act. That led to Bonaduce slapping him and throwing him out of the studio.

Expect the footage to make the TNA website.

Phil Lions sent the following report from the appearance....ere's what went down. Jeremy Borash was there along with Spike TV cameras and he introduced Bonaduce's opponent for Lockdown - "Showtime" Eric Young. They did this whole deal where they started doing a pretty straight-forward interview with Bonaduce asking regular questions (weight, dream opponents, finisher, career length, etc). Then Danny asked Eric about his biggest win and his biggest loss. Eric claimed his biggest loss was wrestling Bonaduce at the PPV. Eric claimed he was really let down to be wrestling Bonaduce at one of the biggest PPVs of the year. He'd much rather wrestle an actual wrestler but he's a professional and he'll do what TNA have asked him to do and carry Bonaduce to an entertaining match. Bonaduce took offense to those comments. He threatened to knock out Eric at the PPV and mocked him by saying that if a 49-year-old member of the Partridge Family beats him that would pretty much be the end of Eric's career. They exchanged some more comments and finally Eric Young slapped Bonaduce twice. Bonaduce then jumped on Eric and they brawled on the ground. After Eric left the studio Bonaduce took some calls and spent a good chunk of time discussing the incident. It was a decent little angle and judging by the callers the people seemed to like it as they were pulling to see Danny kick Eric's ass. However, Eric Young came off as a disrespectful heel who had no respect for Bonaduce while Bonaduce showed respect for Eric and wrestling as a whole and in doing so came off as a babyface.
