PWINSIDER Q & A: ELIMINATION CHAMBERS, CHRIS HARRIS, LEGACY SWERVE, STARRCADE DVD AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2009-03-02 10:00:00

How can you have two Elimination Chamber matches on a PG-rated show without totally waste the character of those matches?

Just like WWE did at No Way Out.  They booked both matches very well on the show.

I think Wildcat Chris Harris is a tremendous talent & wasted his time going to WWE. Do you think he will be re signed by TNA or if they have any interest in him?

Well, he's out there if they want him.  He didn't exact endear himself with people in TNA on his way out so I don't think they are rushing to bring him back.  With that said, I could see him returning at some point down the line, after being fed a healthy portion of humble pie.

I was watching the Starrcade DVD set. Specifically Malenko vs. Guerrero and have to ask why the heck did WWE keep the original commentary. They could and should have had an announcer from their company (Jim Ross) dub his commentary over the match. The original announcers never once call the match move for move hold for hold. They spent the entire match plugging the main event and all but ignoring the two wrestlers in the ring.

Ah yes, the late, not-so-great WCW practice of only caring about the top guys, I miss it so.  They did that a lot back then, unfortunately.  It probably wasn't cost efficient for WWE to have the match recalled all these years later, especially since it was one match on a multi-disc set.  And let's be honest, calling matches hold-for-hold is not exactly a priority for WWE either.

Do you see a swerve coming with Shane McMahon and Legacy? Maybe Shane O-Mac leading the stable since he is after all 3rd generation. I think he would add both legitimacy and a good voice to the group.

At this point, the only swerve I want to see is that they make the storyline more believable.  As I type this on 2/21, it wouldn't shock me to see Shane come out and resent his sister for bringing in HHH to fight the battle he couldn't win on his own, but who knows at this point.  All we know for sure is that it will be a focal point of the show for at least the next month.

Am I the only one who wanted that Randy Orton beat Shane McMahon into a bloody pulp at No Way Out? Am I the only one who loves "evil Randy" and hates Shane and Steph in their current roles?

I was definitely with you on your first statement. I hate that Shane has been booked to be able to beat up the supposed top heel on Raw.  I don't love evil Randy, but a lot of others do.  So to answer your question, you are not alone.
