NEW VIDEO FOOTAGE OF JERICHO INCIDENT, WHO APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN AT FAULT

By Mike Johnson on 2009-02-08 09:18:08

Several readers sent along the following additional videos of yesterday's Chris Jericho incident following the WWE Raw house show in Victoria, British Columbia.  The first video shows Jericho entering his rental car to leave the venue, showing that the incident only occurred because fans surrounded the car.  The second video is a close-up version of the physical aspect and shows Jericho only went after someone, said to be a female, after he was physically provoked.  As I wrote earlier this morning, it seems to me that it was a case of inadequate security and fans obviously overstepping their bounds.

Given the remarks screamed at Jericho by fans, possibly even the same fans, I don't see how anyone could blame him for trying to defend himself.  The videos are embedded below:

While I would agree with anyone who says Jericho should have stayed inside his car when it was swarmed over by the fans, since we don't have video footage available (yet) of why he stepped outside of it, it's hard to make judgment on that aspect. It's obvious he had his back to the woman in question when she tried to grab him, so Jericho was just doing what anyone else may have done - tried to defend himself.
