Has there ever been a wrestler, male or female, who has portrayed themselves as a heel with such effectiveness, so convincingly, that they have received actual death threats? Threats on their life?
There's a long list of wrestlers who have no only received threats, but been attacked in the ring, including Sgt. Slaughter, Fred Blassie, Roddy Piper, Ole Anderson, and many others. In my recent interviews with Terry Funk and Dusty Wolfe, they recount some of the instances where they have actually feared for their lives, although Funk, in his grand wisdom, noted that he didn't feel he was doing his job as a heel unless someone tried to kill him.
I read where WWE released Lena Yadda recently. I didn't know much about her only that she interviewed wrestlers on ECW. I think she even took part in the 16 women tag team match on Raw's 800th (806th) 3 hour anniversary show. Any chance she might be signed by TNA? A second female interviewer? She'd be better to look at that Jeremy Borash. My opinion, of course.
My guess is Yada is done on the national level in wrestling.
Do you know how significantly having Brock Lesnar in the UFC has affected their buy rates for PPVs that he's fought in?
Both of Brock Lesnar's UFC fights have done huge buyrates thus far. The UFC PPV featuring Brock vs. Heath Herring actually did better than Summerslam the same month.
What do you think about this? There is no doubt, that John Cena vs. Chris Jericho will be the last match at Survivor Series. Does this mean, that chances are better for Jeff Hardy to finally win the WWE Championship because not only can he pin Vladimir Kozlov (and not the champ himself) but it's "only" the co-main event?
In my mind, the logical booking for this match is for Jeff Hardy to finally win the WWE championship. His recent turn into a more extreme persona and Undertaker doing a rare clean pinfall loss to Hardy points to Jeff finally getting that big moment. For Hardy not to get it, is only going to reinforce to fans that they shouldn't believe in him to be a top-tier player. So, to me, it's time for Hardy's moment. Whether he gets it or not, we'll have to see, but it really is time.
I was wondering the status of Hulk Hogan, is he retired and going with his life? Will he return to WWE and do a month or two scenario, and has Vince ever contacted him to come back and especially for WM25?
There's been no contact between Hulk Hogan and WWE in recent months. Hogan is working on his Celebrity Championship Wrestling series on CMT and claims he isn't done in the ring, so we'll see.
