PWINSIDER Q&A: CHRISTIAN IN WWE, ROH IN TEXAS, DOMINO, FLAIR AT GENESIS & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-11-16 12:27:09

What are Ring of Honor's plans for Wrestlemania 25?  They've never ventured into Texas and I'd love to see a show live during Wrestlemania weekend.  Are they still planning on having a show in Houston like previous years or have plans changed?

I know that the company was looking for venues, but I haven't heard if they are still intending to run that weekend. If they are, I'd expect them to announce plans very shortly.

In January TNA's Genesis PPV will be in Charlotte, North Carolina.   That's Flair country. Now that Flair is no longer under WWE contract and doing all  kinds of small indie shows, could TNA try to get Flair to appear on the Genesis PPV? I'm sure just having him show up and maybe giving a short speech would be well worth the money and give TNA way more exposure than just about anyone else. If indies or people who hire him for autographs/photo ops can hire him, I'm sure TNA can meet his price.

I believe part of the agreement regarding Flair's release from his WWE deal is a no-compete that would prevent him from making TNA appearances, so I wouldn't hold your breath on Flair strutting in the ring at Genesis.

Does the Main Event Mafia have the most ex-World champions (5) in any group in wrestling ever?

I'm hard-pressed to think of any other groups with the same criteria, so I believe so.

What's Cliff "Domino" Compton up to these days? Since his 90 day no-compete clause ended earlier this month, do you see him getting hired by TNA anytime soon? Do you know if they have expressed any interest in him? If they did hire him, would he be able to use the name "Domino" and possibly the "Global Dominotion" gimmick that he pitched to WWE creative? Finally, I've ready rumors on the internet that he's through with the wrestling business. Can you confirm this?

Domino hasn't worked in the industry since being dropped from his WWE deal.  I haven't heard of any interest in him by TNA, although some friends in WWE were pitching for TNA to give him a shot.  I haven't heard of any "official" word that he's done with the business, either, so he may yet pop up on the indy scene.

So if Christian does return to the WWE, do you Edge returning from his hiatus first, resume the feud with the Undertaker, but he can't rely on anyone from La Familia to have his back.  So he brings in the one person he knows he can rely on... Christian.   Also do you see Christian getting a world title run within the first 6 months of him returning to the company?

If Cage returns, I'd assume they will reunite him with Edge.  I don't see Cage ever being WWE champion, but you never know.
