Would you agree Chris Nowinski is getting annoying, anytime someone mentions him it is regarding brain injuries. Wrestling is a physical sport and if guys are not prepared to take risks they need to play tennis instead.
No, I wouldn't agree with that. I would say he is passionate about a real dangerous issue that faces the business and I admire his commitment to it. I also think that he has helped raise awareness on the issue and has helped WWE rethink their policies where allowing workers to do things that affect the head are concerned. Sure, wrestling is a dangerous business but that doesn't mean that people shouldn't examine the way things are done and try to make them safer.
When Randy Orton called out Shane and Steph he said something that was interesting. I was just wondering your opinion of his statement (I have my own thoughts as well). The statement was "The WWE needs me more than I need the WWE". Think it's true?
Personally, no I don't think so. Unless he has a stash of cash that I don't know about, I think he needs a high six figure salary more than WWE needs him. Also, while I think Orton is a good to very good worker in the ring, his promos don't do much for me so I don't think he is the kind of true top guy that the company really has to go out of its way to make happy.
I have a question. I was reading a press release from 2002 (linked to here) regarding the WWF name change, and it mentions that the court banned use of the WWF name, intitials, or logo in specified circumstances. This made me thing of two things I'd like to know: 1. Are there any specified circumstances in which the WWE can show the logo or mention the initials? and 2. When the a WWF scratch logo appears to be missed on released WWE DVD's (I've seen a few un-blurred scratch logos in the Wrestlemania anthologies) does the WWE get any flack for it?
Technically, if that logo gets through on a project and the WWF wants to take WWE to court for it, I am sure that there is some form of damages that WWE would have to pay for the transgression. If it were a simple mistake, I expect that the court would be somewhat lenient. As for the scenarios where WWE can use the WWF, I am not sure what they are beyond being able to market the old WWF block logo. Since using the WWF name would limit their overall ability to market their product on a national and international basis, there isn't any reason to use it now.
Who "plays" the Kizarny-Character on Friday Night SmackDown???
He is recent developmental wrestler Sinn Bowdee from Florida Championship Wrestling. He has been with WWE for a little over a year now.
Should WWE be successful getting their product reclassified as an entertainment company instead of a sporting company, would it still be able to air on Sky Sports for example in the UK, or would they have to look for another channel to carry it?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. The folks at Sky already know that wrestling is a worked business. Changing it's classification shouldn't affect that at all.
