PWINSIDER Q&A: TNA VS. HEYMAN'S ECW, SANTINO MARELLA, AUSTIN WRESTLING AT MANIA 25 AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-10-26 10:00:00

I am a fan of Santino Marella and "Santino's Casa" on wwe.com. Now since he shows off the Honk-o-meter weekly on both the webcast and Raw, do you see WWE having him run this gimmick all the way to Honky's record? I see WWE just dropping it altogether, like they do with many long term storylines.

Well, with Honkytonk Man booked to appear tonight on Cyber Sunday, it would seem that WWE is going rather quickly for a possible payoff, as opposed to trying to tease the Honk-o-Meter for a long, extended period, so my guess is while it won't be dropped, it will run its course a lot quicker than it could have.  Still, we'll see.

There was a woman who use to accompany Scott Steiner to the ring when he was in WCW. She went by the name of Midajah. What ever happened to her? When Steiner first signed with TNA, was there any interest in her as well.

TNA didn't attempt to bring her in.  She's done a few convention appearances but for the most part, is done with the business beyond that.

With all the talk, discussion and speculation involving Stone Cold Steve Austin participating in the main event at Wrestlemania 25 against either Hulk Hogan or some other WWE star, what is the chance of Stone Cold wrestling in a match prior to the main event? Maybe not against Hogan but, for example, Chris Jericho? Actually take part in a match but not the main one.   Possible?

I don't see Steve Austin wrestling again unless it's someone he sees a lot in (he's praised Ken Kennedy in the past) or someone he'd like to get in the ring with again, like Dwayne Johnson.  Beyond that, I just don't think it'd be worth it for him to chance a neck injury, especially after all the years of being able to live bump (and hopefully pain) free.

How much longer does TNA have to stick around in order to pass the duration of ECW when Paul Heyman was calling the shots there?

Paul Heyman took over the booking of ECW in October 1993 and took over the ownership in the summer of 1995.  Using the former, ECW lasted seven years and three months (it shut down live events in January 2001, which is what I count as the end of the company).  TNA debuted in June 2002, so if they existed past October 2009, they'd exist longer than ECW existed under Heyman.

I know the WWE scripts their interview segments, the question I have for you is... To what extent are interviews/promos in TNA scripted?

Completely.  A script leaked a few months ago and all the verbiage was pretty much word for word to what was said on the air.  So, the extent, in my opinion, is FAR TOO MUCH.
