PWINSIDER Q&A: THE UNDERTAKER, WWE'S AGING VETERANS, CHRISTIAN CAGE'S BEST MOVE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-10-19 10:46:04

I was wondering about the Undertaker change a few years ago. During that time, was it Vince or Undertaker to decide the change to go to the biker way? Then, why did they go back to the old way?

It was a combined decision on both parts.  During the time when Undertaker returned as the American Badass, the supernatural character had run its course and needed a breather.  After a long time where fans were really pulling for the return to the character, they pulled the trigger and brought him back full force at Wrestlemania XX.

I was on your site a few weeks back and I remember reading a Q&A about the Undertaker and Wrestlemania (a bout with Kane) and your answer to the question was something that alluded to the Undertaker having his last match at this years WM.  So, my question is, is the Undertaker really having his last match at Wrestlemania this year?  Thanks and keep up the great work!

I'm not sure what you read, but there are no set plans for an Undertaker retirement match at Wrestlemania XXV.

I was curious on your thoughts about Christian Cage leaving TNA for WWE. Do you think he will? Also would it be a wise decision career wise to leave, seeing as how he became a bigger star in TNA than in WWE?

If I was Cage and I had no problem with going back on a WWE road schedule full time, I'd be going back, especially if it gave me the storyline opportunity to work with Edge again.  I don't know that Cage became a bigger star in TNA, as he was never truly a focal point of the company's direction or marketing.  I think he was in the upper echelon but don't feel like he shattered through a level that he wasn't at within WWE.  If he's looking to retire, one last WWE run would be great for his wallet.  We'll see.  The best decision for any career is to work for WWE, since that's where you have the greatest potential to make the most money.

With a lot of guys getting older in the  WWE, how much longer do we see The  Undertaker, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Batista around?

I think all five are towards the end of their career, but how long they go will be dictated by their health more than anything else.

Stupid question of the day: Would you know if actress Lindsay Wagner had any wrestling training in preparation for her role as Jamie Summers in the TV series The Bionic Woman when her character went undercover as a lady wrestler? Her undercover wrestling name was Savage Summers.

No, she did not.  Thanks for the most random Q&A question of all time!
