PWINSIDER Q&A: ARN ANDERSON, BRET HART VS. RICK RUDE, TRIPLE H AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2008-09-26 10:00:00

Can you remember a time when Arn Anderson was managed by Paul Ellering? It was mentioned twice on the always reliable Wikipedia web site about Paul Ellering. Could Ellering have managed The Enforcer on a War Games Team or some other similar situation?

Actually, Ellering briefly managed Arn Anderson in the early 80's, when Ellering's "Legion Of Doom" stable included not just the Road Warriors, but King Kong Bundy and the Spoiler as well.

Why did the scheduled Davey Boy Smith vs. Barbarian bout not take place at Wrestlemania 8?

Actually, it was Davey Boy Smith vs. The Bezerker, and it was yanked off the show due to time considerations, as the show was running long.

Did Bret Hart and Rick Rude ever wrestle 1-on-1, and if so, is it available on video/DVD?

Other than a house show match in 1989, in Italy, I don't know of any one-on-one Rick Rude vs. Bret Hart match.  If there is one out there, I'd love a copy of it!

How low do Raws ratings have to get before Bonnie Hammer steps in again and demands Vince do something to improve the product? If someone took a creative or imaginative booking idea for Raw to Bonnie Hammer could she strongly demand Vince proceed with it?

Bonnie Hammer is not part of the WWE Creative process, and isn't going to be bringing ideas to Vince or pressuring him to use one.  As for the Raw ratings, they would have to get even lower before USA feels they aren't getting a return on their investment.  That said, the lower they get, the less likely it is that WWE will be getting a higher fee from USA when their current contract runs out.

I have an easy time seeing HHH keep a public, on-camera role with WWE until he's an old man. But I have a hard time seeing him going by the name "HHH" if/when he moves into the boss-of-the-company role Vince McMahon has on camera these days. Do you see him at some point changing his public name to his real one at some point?

Not really.  If he gets an "office" position, they will refer to him by his real name in official documents.  However, whenever he shows up on TV, he would be Triple H.
