PWINSIDER Q&A: THE ANGLES, A FEMALE STABLE, WENDI RICHTER IN THE WWE HALL OF FAME & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-09-28 09:00:00
Can you explain why WWE Diva Jillian Hall is doing that annoying singing gimmick? Who's the genius, and I'm using the term loosely, who suggested it? Isn't this the same woman who once had a growth on the left side of her face? Incredible. If the so called creative team is having trouble thinking of what to do with her, I have an idea: Why not have her....wrestling! I have seen tapes of her in action over the years. She is great. I saw a match between her and Molly Holly one time in OVW. Tremendous back and forth action. Forget about the singing angle. She is not a singer. She is a wrestler. Period. Morons! Opinion?

WWE's response to that would be that Jillian isn't a wrestler, she's a sports-entertainer and they would be right.  Unfortunately, Jillian Hall the wrestler wasn't making a WWE level contract.  Jillian Hall with the bad singing gimmick or the mole on her face is making far more money.  So, while you might not enjoy the gimmick or seeing her work to the full level of her athletic prowess, there are 150 indy workers out there who would gladly do the exact same thing for that paycheck.  It's sadly the nature of the beast.

Someone recently commented about the letters of TNA tag team LAX. They said it reminded them of that medicine someone takes for relief from an upset stomach. To me, it reminds me of that famous airport in Los Angeles, California. Its always referred to as LAX. Any possibility of a copyright infringement?

No, because they are two distinctive genres, such as Sting the wrestler and Sting the singer.  In the unlikely event that TNA opens an LAX airport, there would certainly be an issue.

I read once of an interview featuring former WWF/WWE Women's champion Wendi Richter. In it, she stated that she has no hard feelings over what happened in the match for the Women's title when she defended it against The Spider Lady who, it turned out much to her shock, the late Fabulous Moolah. Richter was defeated by Moolah in Madison Square Garden.. If Wendi Richter has indeed put the whole incident behind her, what is the possibility of Vince McMahon doing the same making way for her to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame? Between the two, who would you say Mr. McMahon has more anger toward, Macho Man Randy Savage or Wendi Richter?

I haven't read this interview nor have heard any similar comments from Richter.  She may have no hard feelings over the issue because she's moved on, but she walked out of the company and never, ever attempted to go back there, so one would think that's not exactly the case.  I don't see Richter going into the WWE Hall of Fame anytime soon.  While she was a big part of the initial Rock N' Wrestling connection, she didn't make much of a splash before or after and I just don't see WWE looking to give her the nod unless it's as part of a package deal with Cyndi Lauper.

With news of a possible divorce between Kurt Angle and his wife Karen, what is the current status involving Karen? Will her show Karen's Angle still continue? Is Karen Angle planning on remaining with TNA if she divorces him?  Is this a possible its me or her situation? Could two people getting divorced work in the same company?  What is TNA's position on this situation? Someone might think this may be a possible storyline and not really true? Thoughts?

It's not a storyline and all sides will continue to work for TNA.

Someone recently brought up the subject of stables within wrestling. Some have suggested possible future "stables" in WWE. The names bandied about were all men. Why not a stable of women in WWE? TNA has The Beautiful People with Velvet Sky, Angelina Love and the returning Moose (Mickie Knuckles). Could such a concept be possible in WWE? Smackdown could pull it off. One stable consisting of Michelle McCool, Brie/Nicole Bella and Maria. The other featuring Natalya Neidhart, Victoria and Maryse. What do you think? A women's stable. Possible?

I like the idea.  It could be something unique, but only if the company involved puts the same time and effort into it that they would do for a male stable.
