Have you ever attended an independent wrestling show and saw a wrestler, male or female, you thought would someday be a star and, much to your surprise, turned out to be? This is someone who is a star now but was a total unknown then.
Two names come to mind. One was Matt Striker, who showed so much personality and an ability to talk that I felt he would have been a great manager in the 1980's. He turned into a great commentator instead. The other was Jay Lethal. I did play-by-play commentary on a Jersey All Pro Wrestling student show which I believe was Lethal's second match ever. He showed a ridiculous amount of ability and potential, to the point that I felt from that moment on that, barring injury, Lethal would be a star.
I'd like to see something like Raisha Saed becoming a Skandor Akbar type Character. You could have her do a Devastation inc. type monster-heel stable. I think it would be cool if Kamala could have *one* more feud in a national company. He worked a great match with Brian Danielson - so he can still work. Throw in Abyss along with a few other monster types. I think that would be a great mid-card kind of thing TNA could do.
I don't think you can have someone become a Skandar Akbar character if they don't talk. If/when she starts cutting promos, then maybe she can have a stable. As for Kamala coming to TNA, well, never say never, but it doesn't seem likely to me.
With his name and popularity, would Hulk Hogan ever consider starting his own wrestling school for both men and women? In your opinion, would such a venture succeed?
I'm sure if there was money in it, Hogan would consider it. That said, I think such a venture would only generate money for a short time, and once all the wealthy Hulkamaniacs had gone to the school and dropped out, it would shut down.
I saw a picture one time of former pro wrestler Dick Beyer formerly known as The Destroyer. He was among a group of men at some gathering. He was wearing his Destroyer mask he would wear when he wrestled when the picture was taken. Would you know if he likes to have his picture taken of him without his mask? I don't think I have ever seen a photo of him without it. Is there something to this?
The Destroyer, to the best of my knowledge, has always been adamant about wearing his mask whenever fans or cameras would be present. That said, I believe he wrestled a few matches without the mask in states that banned masked wrestlers back in the day.
Are WWE Divas who have only been with the company for a very short time persuaded to take part in wrestling? In other words, are they required to wrestle in matches by person or persons behind the scenes? What if someone were to say no to the prospect of wrestling in the ring? Is it their choice to do that or not do it?
If you are a WWE Diva, it is pretty much in the job description that you will be wrestling at some point. If someone were to say no to the idea of wrestling, I think WWE would be justified to ask them "Then what the hell are you doing here?" WWE doesn't hire women to strictly be window dressing anymore, they expect them to train and learn to wrestle (if they don't already).
