PWINSIDER Q&A: VINCE MCMAHON, VICTORIA, HONKY TONK MAN AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2008-09-19 10:00:00

Whose idea was it for Vince McMahon to have his head shaved at Wrestlemania 23?

From what I understand, it was Vince's idea to shave his head at the show.

What has Victoria done that she is no longer one of the top female wrestlers in the women's division?

I don't think it has anything to do with what Victoria has done or hasn't done.  It is just a case where WWE prefers to push the "fresh meat" in the Women's division, and while Victoria might be pushed again, right now she is part of the support cast for Michelle McCool, Maryse and Brie Bella.  She is easily one of, if not the best worker in the division, so she will always have a spot, it just won't be the top spot.

With WWE mentioning the Honky Tonk Man with the Santino Marella angle, is there any chance we will see the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time (I mean HTM) show up on Raw?

I guess it is possible that at some point WWE will make an offer to the Honky Tonk Man to come in and make an appearance in conjunction with the "Honk-a-meter", but I've heard no plans for it.  It's not like Honky Tonk has endeared himself to WWE or his cousin, Jerry Lawler, in recent years.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to Curt Hennig, but seeing how his WWE run didn't end on the best of terms, how is he in the WWE Hall Of Fame and Rick Rude isn't?

Hennig certainly is a good example of someone who left WWE on less than favorable terms and is now in the Hall Of Fame, so I definitely think an argument can be made for Rick Rude, one of the best heels ever, to be inducted at some point. Hennig had a longer WWF run, so I can see him going in ahead of Rude.

How were the WTBS studio tapings run during the Gordon Solie and Jim Crockett eras? When were they taped, how many at a time, how did the wrestlers have enough time to go back and forth between the tapings and house shows around the country, and how were tickets distributed to the fans?

At one point, the TBS show was taped every Saturday morning/afternoon, then later on as the house show market expanded, they moved on to taping several weeks at a time. I believe tickets were actually free to the tapings.
