Can we please for the love of god put an end to the "What?!" chant? It's not funny, and sometimes ruins good promos. Am I the only one that feels this way?
If only I had the power, believe me, it would be done, yesterday. The "What" crap was old when Steve Austin was still around and much like a dead fish, it stinks worse over time. The fans that still do it today are the knuckle dragging, bottom feeding stereotypical freaks that make me embarrassed at times to admit I am a wrestling fan.
So with the WWF lawsuit over the initials, I've read it was decided by a British court. 3 questions. 1. Why was it held in British court and not an US court, or Canadian court, or anywhere else. Did the World Wildlife Fund know that the British court was their best chance of winning? Because I know they were founded and based in Switzerland, so I'm wondering how the British court was the venue. 2. Is the British court ruling legally binding world wide, or can technically could Vince use the WWF initials in every other country in the world (I know it's probably just easier make the change and not constantly edit just for one country, but hypothetically speaking, COULD they?) 3. Can some other court, be it a US or Canadian or Brazilian court over turn the decision?
1. The other WWF was based in the UK so they brought the suit there.
2. Yes, it does have worldwide implications. Where WWE was screwed was the fact that they had a website on the World Wide Web. That is what forced them to change their name since the web goes to all counties.
3. If it could, Vince would have tried that!
I was recently riding home in my car after work, only to hear an advert for Raw this Monday, however they also advertised that ECW would be there. I thought that ECW was going to start touring with Raw sometime in September? Or did I simply miss something where they bumped the date up?
Over the summer, that was indeed the plan. Then, the plan changed (which of course is typical of creative). Why it changed, only they know for sure but the talent was even told that they would be changing nights so it was definitely WWE's intention for a while.
I saw the question about David Flair and was curious about Reid Flair. I know he never signed a developmental contract with WWE, but do you see him being offered a contract and accepting anytime in the next 6 months to a year?
Hmmm, the next six month? My magic 8 Ball says, "All signs point to no". That isn't to say he may not come in down the road, but I just don't see it happening in the near future.
I just noticed that the Raw after Summerslam is being held in Chicago, CM Punk's hometown. Does WWE take that kind of thing into consideration when they're planning (cough, cough) their storylines out? It just seems to me that they put the belt on Punk before the majority of the audience knew a lot about him, and if they're going to try to get him over, doing a big angle in his hometown (which also happens to have consistently hot crowds) would be a great way to do so. Do you think they have that kind of foresight?
Since they plan their event dates a few months in advance, and creative is often done hours in advance, I would say no to that kind of foresight. Seriously though, they do have to coordinate tours with other venues, plus make sure they aren't hitting the same cities too often, so a situation like this is almost always a coincidence. Hell, in this case they probably didn't even know that Punk would be the champion when they booked the date.
