PWINSIDER Q&A: DEDICATED WRESTLERS, MVP, FOLEY & ABYSS AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2008-09-06 10:00:00

I have been most impressed by what I've seen in the ring of WWE Diva Maryse. She had only been wrestling for a very short time and already she seems very comfortable in the ring. On a recent tag match, she DDT'd Maria eventually pinning her. A DDT! What's your opinion on her progress and don't you think she looks like academy award winning actress Charlize Theron?

I don't know about a resemblance to Theron, but Maryse, much like Kelly Kelly, has shown a lot of improvement and is obviously making a strong effort to get better in the ring.  She's not on the Victoria/Mickie James level, but she is way better than she was a few months ago.

Of all the wrestlers that came into the business and left, and who's there now, who would you say is the most dedicated wrestler to the business and would go out of his way just because he loves the wrestling business that much ?

Matt Hardy and Tommy Dreamer are two of the first names that came to mind as I read that question, so I will go with them.

Smackdown's newest Diva Brie Bella was once a part of a tag team with her twin sister Nicole known as The Bella Twins in FCW. With Brie now on Smackdown, what is the possibility of Nicole appearing on Raw in the near future?

I don't think Raw is where you should be looking for her.  Stick to Friday nights.  In fact, you could say that you've already seen Nicole on Smackdown.

With Mick Foley now signed with TNA, do you see the team of Foley/Abyss in the near future?

I hope not.  Putting Foley and Abyss together, in my opinion, just emphasizes that Abyss is a poor man's version of Foley's old Mankind gimmick.

The wrestler known as MVP. Are the initials MVP considered a sports term? In other words, could someone or organization claim copyright of the initials MVP? After all you hear those letters in baseball, football and basketball?

Since MVP is an abbreviation of Most Valuable Player, which is a term, I don't believe someone can copyright it.
