PWINSIDER Q&A: VINCE MCMAHON'S PATIENCE, MIKE ADAMLE, MARIA, SPINNER BELT AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2008-08-15 10:00:29

On a recent TNA Impact! Roxxi Laveaux defeated Jacqueline in a hardcore match with Roxxi winning. With Moose (Mickie Knuckles) out of action with a broken leg is it the plan for Roxxi Laveaux to take over her part in these type of matches? She, along with Jacqueline, were both impressive. By the way, I thought Traci Brooks did a great job as referee. She is 100 times better than the male referees TNA has. They're wimps! Thoughts?

No, there were no plans for Roxxi to "take over" Moose's part.  TNA just went in a different direction (teaming Awesome Kong with Beautiful People against the babyfaces) for the time being.  I would have no problem with Traci Brooks being the "Knockouts Referee".  It'd bean interesting role for her.

On a recent Smackdown, one of the matches featured was a women's match between Victoria and Maria. Maria defeated Victoria. Why did Victoria allow Maria to beat her? Some have said to give her a small push. This reminded me when Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly) before she left WWE did jobs for both Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler. Now its Victoria. Why not have Maria wrestle someone of her own skill? Someone like Layla. Kelly Kelly. Instead of a seasoned veteran as Victoria. Thoughts?

Victoria lost to Maria because that's what WWE told her to do.  Victoria, if she disagreed, doesn't have any say in the matter.  Obviously, it was done to give Maria a boost in her first match on Smackdown.  As for why Maria wrestled Victoria, obviously a win over a veteran is more impressive than a win over a lesser competitor, thus the "rub" is better.

Would you say Vince McMahon is a very patient man?

I would say, when it comes to wrestling, he is not very patient.  He doesn't suffer fools lightly, and doesn't like to wait for results.

At first, Adamle's inability to speak publicly was cute. But now it's just annoying. Is this a case of WWE taking a few of Adamle's mistakes and turning them into a full fledged character, or is he REALLY that bad?

It's both.  WWE took Adamle's mistakes and made them a full fledged character, and he really is that bad.

Now that HHH is on Smackdown, is that spinner belt ever going away, or does HHH carry it simply because he likes it?

I'm surprised WWE hasn't redesigned the belt either, since they could then sell replicas and toy versions of a new one.  For now, they are sticking with the spinner belt, although the front plate has been locked in position so it doesn't spin any longer.
