PWINSIDER Q & A: MICHAELS-TAKER, SURVIVOR SERIES, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO, HAWAIIAN MANIA AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2008-08-11 10:00:00

What happened to Bob Holly, Rey Mysterio, Chuck Palumbo and Big Daddy V?

V was released last week.  Rey is still not 100% recovered from injuries and will be back on Raw soon after coming back a bit too early.  Palumbo is waiting to be used after being drafted to Raw.  Holly is on the endangered list.

Do you ever see WWE running a WrestleMania or other PPV in Hawaii? I just figured a beach side venue would make for a great look on TV.

I think the problem with running in Hawaii is that it's so far away that it would be very costly for people to travel there both to see see the show as well as to work it.  That isn't to say that it couldn't happen but it's a long, long way to take the needed equipment for the company and it's a very remote location. Logistically, it's a very expensive place to run a live show.

There have been a few Taker-HBK match questions asked lately, so I'll go ahead and pile on. Do you think that a Taker-HBK match should be a 1-time only, WRESTLEMANIA match, or a series of matches. Sure they're on separate brands now but WWE's had worse reasons for having inter-promotional matches. And with that said, if you do think a series would be better, should it start at WM, end at WM, or have the WM match be in the middle of feud?

It would all depend on how they did it.  If they laid out some kind of deal where they announced a three match series, starting at Survivor Series, continuing at the Rumble and then culminating at WrestleMania, possibly with it being the last match of one or both of the guys' careers, I think that could be really cool.  If it was booked well, I would have no problem with it being a series.  But, I wouldn't want it to be a regular feud.

Since WWE has been releasing Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summer Slam Anthology DVDs, does this mean it's likely that they will be releasing Survivor Series Anthology DVD set sometime in 2009?

It would seem to reason that it would happen to me.  Since it's a big four PPV, it certainly deserves its own DVD.

Since WWE canceled the upcoming release of Sting 3 disc DVD, is it possible it will come up eventually when Sting is done with TNA for good? Also what about him getting inducted into the Hall of Fame and maybe possible have a one time only match at WrestleMania against a special opponent? And if Sting does get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame do you think Ric Flair could be the possible candidate to induct him since he's the man that made Sting career skyrocket?

I would think that once Sting retires from TNA, that would be when WWE releases his DVD set.  You can't blame them there.  It doesn't make sense to release it now when he's working for a competitor.  I definitely think Sting should be in the WWE Hall and Flair would be the perfect guy to induct him.  As for him working for WWE for one match, well anything is possible.  If he can work for TNA I don't see why he couldn't do one match for WWE.
