What are the chances of CM Punk showing Tony Atlas the World Title and saying "Never getting on TV, eh?"
I think Punk is classy enough to not do that, although if he passes Atlas in the hallway at a PPV, I imagine he will be grinning.
On a more serious note, how would you transition Christopher Daniels from Curry Man back into the Fallen Angel character? I think it would be interesting if Curry Man challenged for the X-Division title, then dropped the comedy in the last part of that match and hit the BME and/or the Angel's wings. Have him defend the title successfully and while giving out little hints as to his identity (i.e. by signature moves or Fallen Angel hand gestures). Finally, he would unmask (perhaps on the order of Jim Cornette), and say that due to him being a non-contracted TNA performer under possession of the X-Division title, he does not have to follow TNA's rules or requirements in regards to it and threatens to walk out with the belt (and bring it to New York like Flair with his belt 16 years ago) unless he is given a new contract. This would effectively shanghai TNA into giving him a new deal (on air) and, depending on how they have him come across, make him either a top babyface or a heel for the X-Division. Plus it would also give some value back to the title and make the next title change have a lot of meaning. Your thoughts?
That probably will work as good as anything! Seriously, as funny as Curry Man has been, I'd much rather see Christopher Daniels used as a major player, instead of a comedy partner for Shark Boy and Eric Young.
I remember when Raven used to wrestle with one white heeled boot the announcers said it was because one of his legs was shorter than the other one.
That is true, from what I understand. Due to foot issues that hampered him for years while working for ECW, Raven does wear a boot that compensates for a loss of height in one leg.
Are you getting as tired of Bret Hart as I am? He was a good wrestler, but he acts like he's the greatest that has ever laced up boots. I never really bought his character as I never thought he was that great of a talker or promo guy. His in-ring work was good from a tech stand point, but it was boring a lot of the time. He was a guy that did a lot of rest holds and that junk. Where did he get this high opinion of himself?
Ever heard a Canadian crowd when Bret Hart comes out? Seriously, Bret was a beloved superstar in Canada and Europe. In fact, I don't think it is a stretch to say that Bret is a bigger star in most European countries than Hulk Hogan. So, with that kind of support, you can see where Bret gets the idea from. Personally, I'm not tired of Bret at all, I just think those who choose to interview him need to ask different questions.
Since Wrestlemania, we've had upper mid-card guys like like Big Show, MVP, Kennedy, Umaga, Matt Hardy, Kane and Finlay, and solid mid card workers like Shelton Benjamin, Chuck Palumbo, Lance Cade, and Kofi Kingston appear on one (or no) PPV's. Now that the rosters of Smackdown and Raw are fresher and more evenly balanced, do you think the WWE should revert back to it's old PPV system of "brand-only" PPV's for the B-shows and have tri-branded ones for the big 4? I think this would make feuds more meaningful, so WWE wouldn't have to rush into programs (i.e. Triple H and Edge at the Bash), plus I think the Raw/SD rosters definitely has the talent to put on entertaining brand-only PPV's every 2-3 months. The other part of the equation of course if Creative's ability to write compelling stores, but nonetheless, what do you think?
I have thought that WWE might be well served to go back to brand-only shows, but in the end, it isn't smart business. The brand-only PPV events just didn't draw the buys, and that's the bottom line when it comes to the monthly shows. I would rather see WWE try to make an effort to rotate which midcarders get on the PPV, which would also help to keep the show fresher for those of us who watch every show.
