I’ve been reading a lot into steroids. Just like with anything, there’s advocates for steroids. These people feel strongly that steroids and growth hormone keep you looking and feeling younger, make you heal fast from injuries, etc. Some scientists even back these facts up and say there’s nothing wrong with steroids. Some even endorse them. I compare steroids (to a much smaller degree) to marijuana. There’s a ton of people FOR marijuana, despite it being illegal, even though it’s been proven to have health benefits. I’ve heard people say that steroids, in moderation, are perfectly healthy. Same with growth hormones. Do you think all of this recent anti steroid talk is justified or are people just not getting the big picture? For example, I think when it comes to wrestling deaths, pills are the huge problem. Pills with dozens and dozens of side effects. Not to mention, you’re throwing your body around every night, which obviously can’t be good for your heart long term.
Steroids, in my view, is a medication, just like any other. Doctors prescribe steroids for people who need them to recover from certain injuries and medical procedures. Doctors also prescribe pain pills and muscle relaxers for those reasons. I see no problem with people using steroids, pain pills, etc. under a doctor's supervision to help them heal. The problem is, wrestlers (and the doctors that help them) that are abusing steroids and other prescription medication. When someone decides to "mess with" their body through over using medications, no good can come of it.
So, why did JR and Mick call the US title match between Matt and Chavo on Night of Champions? Both participants are from ECW and, following the rules of the draft where the belt follows its holder, so is the US title. So, I can see why the tag title match with Miz/Morrison vs. Finlay/Hornswoggle would be called as a Smackdown match despite all participants being from ECW at least the belt is from Smackdown. Being as the ECW title was technically a RAW belt at the time, maybe Cole/Lawler should have called that one, but at least they had someone from ECW involved in the match. But there's nothing about the US title match that had anything to do with Smackdown.
I would guess it was done to spare people having to sit through another Mike Adamle match call!
Has any reason been given as to why Rick Steamboat's name was not on the recently released Ric Flair DVD set? Those two men had tremendous and memorable matches. Why the snub?
I'm answering this having not seen the DVD yet. I have no idea why Steamboat wasn't included. It makes no sense to me.
On the recent TNA Impact! Kurt Angle went through a series of three blind dates arranged by his good friend Brother Ray of Team 3D. During the episode. I noticed he was wearing his wedding ring on his left hand. At least, I think he did. Was he wearing it? If so, why would anyone go on a blind date wearing his or her wedding ring in plain sight? Courage or stupidity?
Probably TNA oversight, or the simple fact that he isn't divorced yet, so why not keep it on?
With TNA recently featuring stars from various countries around the world, any chance they might bring in women wrestlers from other countries as well, such as Manami Toyota from Japan, Portia Perez from Canada, Wesna from Germany just name a few? Foreign stars have been all men. Why not foreign women wrestling stars?
I've heard no plans for them to import female talent, but I love the idea of bringing in some of the Japanese stars that have worked with Awesome Kong in the past to come to the U.S. for a match or two.
