Hey guys. I just watched ECW One Night Stand (rented) and was not thrilled. I knew they had edited the music (knew that from you guys), but it took away so, so much from the show. I mean, Sandman's entrance was beyond awesome. Is there any way possible to find One Night Stand with the original broadcast? I am so ticked now cause I had it recorded years back and if I had known WWE was going to butcher it, I would have somehow saved it!
The only way you'll find a copy of the show as it originally aired is if you know someone with a tape or DVD of the PPV and get a copy from them. That version of the show was not released commercially, nor will it be.
I've heard a lot of good things about the TNA Global "Impact"
show from
Japan. Is this show worth 20 bucks for the DVD or is it more of the same old
TNA?
If you've heard good things, it's for a good reason. The show was one of the best TNA broadcasts in their entire six year history and the DVD features the complete version of all of the matches that were highlighted on that special, including Kurt Angle vs. Yuji Nagata. I think for $20, you'll end up enjoying the DVD, but that's just my opinion.
How does the WWE feel about their talent appearing at UFC Events? On several occasions I have seen the Undertaker in attendance at UFC PPV's and the UFC announcers and cameraman play it up. Is any other WWE talent allowed to attend UFC Events or is the Undertaker the only exception due to his longevity with the company?
The official WWE point of view on MMA is that it is not a direct competitor, but is something that is an indirect competitor, similar to how the NFL would be. That's why WWE had no problem selling UFC Brock Lesnar footage to use for his debut. WWE doesn't have an issue with their talents attending UFC events and being seen - others beyond Taker who have been spotted in recent months ay UFC include Shane McMahon, JBL and Batista, as well as Steve Austin - as long as its not a conflict with WWE events.
Quick question regarding the curtain call. What exactly was Triple H's punishment for that? Was it just not getting the King of the Ring win? I ask because it seems anything bad that happened to him before he made it big gets blamed on it. WWE has juxtaposed video of him in the Pig Pen Match (6 months before the call) Today's Q&A (6/12) says he was fed to Warrior at Mania 2 months before the call. Don't people make too big a deal out of this I mean he won the IC title not long after it happened and got the KoR the next year?
Triple H's punishment was not getting his planned King of the Ring win and the push that would have come with it in the following year, which opened up a spot for Steve Austin to shoot to the top of the professional wrestling world. The punishment on HHH's part was not so much losing the push and spending about a year being jobbed out, but losing out on whatever money he would have made with the canceled push, because he was working the bottom of the cards and making much lower paydays. So, from a financial standpoint, he was taking a big dent in the wallet.
Just a 'Do You Agree?' comment really. In my opinion Mr Kennedy may be able to help "resurrect" the Intercontinental title. I see him as about equal with Jericho as far as working in the ring. A nice drawn out feud with those two (like in the old days) leading to a title change might be very interesting. To me it seems that Kennedy ranks right up there with the best of them as a worker. Yeah he made some mistakes on previous pushes, but it seems he bounced right back. A program with Jericho and Kennedy certainly wouldn't hurt Jericho any either. Your thoughts (as long as creative doesn't screw it up somehow)???
I don't agree he's anywhere near the personality or worker inside the ring that Chris Jericho is. Jericho has that smooth style that you only find in really strong performers and I've never really felt that about Kennedy's work inside the ring. I also don't believe that Kennedy or anyone else can "resurrect" the Intercontinental title to its glory years era. That's WWE's fault and it will never, ever happen because the company doesn't put the time and care into the IC belt, which was once considered so important because it was the belt that the great workers of the company competed over, since there are 100 titles in the company and unless it's the WWE or World championships, everything is secondary.
