I just saw uncensored video of John Graziano in his hospital room. When the camera panned around to his face and head, it almost made me throw up. For those who didn't see it (and should not go out of their way to watch it), a sizable portion of his face and head are missing due to the accident that Nick Hogan caused. Up until now, I had given the Hogans the benefit of the doubt. Now, having seen the Graziano that they have seen from the beginning, I feel that they are the most vile, disgusting and despicable people that I have ever seen. How do you feel about it?
From the beginning, I have felt that the Hogans have been extremely callous and duplicitous in their public behavior where Graziano was concerned. I felt that it was being done, at least in part, for the public's benefit. Their conversations in jail proved this when they made some extremely callous and downright horrible remarks, which were caught on tape. I felt all that before I had seen how badly Graziano was injured. Knowing that they had seen and said the things that they did makes me sick. I think their behavior since the crash has been self-serving largely despicable as well. If they really cared about Graziano as much as they said they did, they certainly would never have said the things that they did on the jailhouse tapes, especially knowing his condition. To me, the real kicker is I have heard from a great number of people who have defended Hogan over the years who have told me that Hulkamania has ended for them in light of their behavior here. I think that says it all.
Why do most of the wrestlers and announcers say "Kurt HennING", as opposed to "Kurt HennIG"?
They do so for the simple reason that they just didn't say his name right. It's not "most" either. It's a few and they just make the same mistake every time they say his name. It's kind of like spelling "Curt" incorrectly, as you did. :-)
Was DDP's stutter legit, or just an act to get more heat, in case his late night radio DJ voice didn't irritate enough people?
I spoke with Page on a number of occasions and he didn't stutter. I don't remember him stuttering on air either.
Do you think WWE should do more PPV's in Canada? They seem to always have hot crowds. The fans help make the show seem great even if it isn't that great.
The problem with doing PPVs in Canada is that the company never knows how the crowd will react. They are famous for giving reactions diametrically opposed to what WWE wants them to do. With that said, on PPV you have the hardest of the hardcore fans so that shouldn't matter. I say if a crowd is live, run shows for them because, as you said, a great crowd makes a show better.
I have THE question of 2008 for you. Are you tired of people referring to WWE in questions about the past as the "then-WWF" as if you haven't been following wrestling for the majority of your life? Does ANYONE out there, even non-fans, not know that WWE used to be called the World Wrestling Federation? Is this just clinging onto the past?
It doesn't bother me because it's factually correct for them to write it that way. I have to do the same thing at times when referring to that period of time when I write about it in order be factually correct. One of the things you are taught early on as a writer is to never assume that your audience knows what you are talking about. It's your job to clarify everything. So, I have no problem with them doing that.
