I was watching The Rock The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment DVD and noticed Hogan didn't come out to the nWo music, but rather some other music. Was it a cause of not owning the rights to the nWo music?
I haven't checked on this but I would be almost positively certain that would be why it didn't appear on the DVD. They would have to pay a rights fee for its use and they probably chose not to do so. Frankly, I don't blame them because it's not that important to the story.
Without a doubt Ric Flair is one of the best wrestling champions of all time. I'm curious to know who in your opinion is the best wrestler to never win a championship as well as who you feel never deserved to be champion.
The first name that popped into my head for your first question was Ted Dibiase. He definitely should have gotten a run on top. Also, I think Don Muraco could have worn the big belt as well.
The first name that popped into my head for your second question is Ronnie Garvin. He just didn't seem like a true top guy to me. Verne Gagne's title runs at the end of the AWA were pretty embarrassing too. For the sake of argument, I am going to limit this to World titles and titles that meant something. If I included belts after they had lost their shine, Larry Zbyszko's AWA run would be up there as well.
Since WWE just came back to Canada after the Benoit Incident, when do you think they will make their way back to Calgary?
I think as soon as they book a Canadian west coast swing, they will return to Calgary. With all of their international tours, Canada has been pretty neglected by the company lately. As of right now they have nothing on the books for north of the border. That is a real shame because Canadian fans are very loyal to the product.
Is Joe Hennig in consideration for teaming with Ted Dibiase at Night of Champions?
If he is I haven't heard that yet. I am under the impression that they feel it's too early in the learning process for him to make that kind of jump yet. I do think Dibiase's partner will be a second generation worker though because there has been talk of doing a faction like that for a while now.
Question about Black Saturday, 1984. I saw some footage on YouTube today. Did Vinny Mac really buy WCW way back in the 80's and then turn around and sell it back to Ted Turner? So, Vince bought WCW twice already? Maybe there is a chance he will again? Can you help to explain this.
No, he didn't buy it twice. WCW didn't exist in 1984. It came in to existence four years later when Jim Crockett sold his company to Turner Broadcasting and they renamed it WCW. In 1984, Vince bought Georgia Championship Wrestling's TV slot on TBS by purchasing the majority stock in GCW from the Briscoes and others. His first broadcast of the WWF product to fans expecting their usual brand of wrestling was deemed Black Saturday because they hated it so much. The fans of rough and tumble GCW product hated the WWE cartoon show and let TBS management know it. Ted Turner was also unhappy because he expected a fresh show instead of a recap edition. He added a Bill Watts promoted wrestling show, which was outdrawing WWF on the station. Vince McMahon sold the timeslot to Jim Crockett Promotions and their TV replaced WWF. Turner dropped Watts' TV shortly after.
