PWINSIDER Q&A: RAW RATINGS, TRIPLE H TO SMACKDOWN, BEER AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2008-06-06 10:00:00

After reading that WWE's rating for this most recent RAW was a 2.9 I was wondering when was the last time WWE scored a 4.0 or higher?

The last time WWE regularly had ratings in the 4.0 range was prior to last year's Wrestlemania.  Since April 2, 2007, WWE has only seen Raw hit 4.0 or higher on three occasions:  June 18, 2007, December 10, 2007 and February 28, 2008.

The draft where HHH was picked by Smackdown and then traded back to Raw, did he change his mind about going there?

Nope, the plan all along was to tease that Triple H was going to Smackdown, then do the "trade" that would see him back on Raw (and set up the storyline of him being angry with those that were happy about his leaving).

I just saw the Paul Roma interview....and the terrible things he has to say. I guess my only question is....who the &%#@ is Paul Roma?

Roma was a solid mid-card worker for WWF and WCW in the late 80's and early 90's.  His greatest success was as a tag team wrestler, working with Jim Powers and Hercules in WWF and later Arn Anderson (his infamous Horseman stint) and Paul Orndorff in WCW. He later tried his hand at boxing, with limited success.

With William Regal's recent troubles, what are the chances of WWE giving him his outright release? If they do release him, do you see him going to TNA? Would TNA sign him knowing of his recent problems? If released, would he be under a 90 day no compete clause?

If WWE was going to give Regal his outright release, I think they would have done so already.  Would TNA sign him?  That's a good question.  TNA has taken in some "troubled performers" in the past, so perhaps they would.  However, and I'm a fan of Regal's work, but I don't see him as a big draw, and TNA is already overloaded with talent that isn't able to get TV time. If WWE released him now, they certainly could use their 90 day no-compete clause if they wanted to.

I read a report of a fan on Raw trying to attack wrestlers while trying to get into in ring who was eventually stopped by security. It was reported that this fan was seen drinking prior to the incident. Does the venues where WWE appears serve alcohol? Are fans known for sneaking beer into the shows?

Most arenas where WWE runs in North America serve alcohol.  And I'm sure there have been cases of underage fans, or fans who don't want to pay the ridiculously high beer prices, sneaking in their own stuff.
