I've noticed when I'm watching events from the late 80's there is one fan who seems to be at every event. I'm talking about that black guy with the glasses who seemed to make it on camera consistently throughout this generation. Is this guy a plant or just a mark?
He is not a plant, just a rabid fan who loves the product and, just so happens to be a friend of our own Mike Johnson!
I have a couple questions about Kane.. I feel as ECW Champion, he hasn't lived up to what I expect of a Champion to be.. I mean I think his bald head and black and red barb wire tights have to go.. To me he is really getting stale with his current gimmick.. What do you think about a storyline, where let's say Kane was involved in a feud with anyone, let's just say he turned on the Undertaker and they had a match at a pay-per-view where after the match was done, The Undertaker some how sets Kane totally on fire.. Kane takes some time off to regrow his hair and after about 8 months to a year, he comes back with the mask on and the explanation being that he was severely burned by the fire Undertaker set to him that he reverted back to the mask..? Do you think in a sense that it would re-vamp Kane?
Wait a second, you don't think he has lived up to the pedigree of the (new) ECW Champion? With all due respect, that is not a bar that has been set very high and Kane easily clears it. As for your idea, here's why I don't see it happening. One, Kane is getting older now and putting him on the shelf that long voluntarily wouldn't be the best idea this point in his career. On top of that, the company isn't exactly flush with upper card talent so I don't see them taking Kane out of the mix. My opinion is that Kane is fine the way that he is, and he has an air of being different to him. Also I think he has been working very hard lately. So, I would leave him as is.
So, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho put on a 4-star match at Judgment Day with HBK squeaking out the win. And like you guys said, the loss doesn't hurt Y2J. I agree with that, but on the other hand: What would it have hurt Michaels to lose? He's the established legend who has nothing to gain from the win, while Jericho is the returning star who might've benefited, momentum and status-wise, from going over. Do you guys sense that Michaels is still kinda hesitant to do the job?
No, I don't get that vibe, certainly not in the manner that he used to hate to lose earlier in his career. I think Shawn has done enough jobs lately to show that. I don't think it would have hurt him to lose to Jericho, but this is WWE where the day after CM Punk won Money In The Bank, he lost to Jericho. They believe that, for the most part, anyone can lose to anyone else at any time without being hurt, and they book their TV that way. I think it's a mistake and that they should protect guys if they want fans to them as true top talents, but they don't really care what I think.
What would you think of the idea of the MITB match at Mania 25 being billed as a Second Generation MITB Match? Participants could be: Jesse, Deuce, Harry Smith, Carlito, Cody Rhodes, Trevor Murdoch, DiBiase Jr., and maybe Orton.
I think if you do it, you have to push the "young talent that has never been on top" aspect of the process. So for that reason I would leave Orton out. But other than that, I like the idea. MITB had lost a bit of luster of late, especially how it's been booked this year, so I like the idea of making it something that the young talent could use to be elevated.
William Regal. His career is probably now going to come to an end because of this. Isn't it? He may come back and do some matches, but that's it, I don't see any big storylines. Am I right? Not even GM stuff?
Only Vince McMahon knows Willie's future for sure. Personally, if I brought him back at all, it would be in a lower card role. Here is a guy who lobbied and lobbied to get an in-ring spot, asked the company to put its trust in him, and then he burned them. All of this came after he wrote a book about his past problems with abuse and talked about how he could have helped saved Eddie Guerrero if he only knew more about his condition. Then, he flunked a Wellness Test while in the midst of a major push. It makes him look like a hypocrite and a fraud, not to mention and idiot. I honestly don't know what his future is with WWE but if it were me, if (and that is a big if) I took him back, he would have to spend a long, long time proving himself. At his age and with only one strike left, I don't know if I would ever trust him in a decent spot on the card. It's like that old saying, burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me.
