Hey guys. Ok, I have been a wrestling fan for 20+ years. From the 'Hulkamaniacs' to the present. And for the first time, I am deleting WWE shows from my DVR without watching them. Why? Because they are repeats. There is only so many times you can see two guys wrestle IN A ROW! Last night was the icing on the cake. Next PPV, same matches. Oh, stipulations. That changes it all. I am a huger fan of TNA now. Sure, they have a long way to go and their storylines need tons of improvement. But the wrestling alone on the show, all I can say is, they blow WWE away. Am I the only one seeing this? Am I just getting to picky? This really sucks for me. I have been a diehard for so many years. Do you guys have any insight into this? Thank god for your guys' site. Otherwise, wrestling would be a 'past hobby' for me!
You're certainly not the only one who is not enjoying the current WWE product. While I think there is still some good wrestling to be found (usually on Smackdown), there definitely has been a tendency to keep some main event programs going longer than I would like (for example, HHH-Orton, which has seen eleven televised matches in 2008, with more to come). In the 80's, you could get away with a long running feud, because fans only saw the matches when they came to their local arena. With the current wrestling landscape, you see the matches over and over, so you can't prolong the feud, unless you do something other than straight matches with it (like MVP-Hardy). Now, there are those who enjoy the current product, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
I know this is a dumb question, but I'll ask it for the hell of it. Would a WWE wrestler try to fail a drug test on purpose so he can get out of his contract and go to another company (maybe TNA)?
Well, he would have to fail three times for that to happen, and I would think TNA would be wary of hiring someone who failed three publicly acknowledged drug tests. If a person wants to be fired, there are quicker ways to get it done, like just no-showing work or insulting Vince McMahon's physique.
One of the things WWE is missing today is the element of surprise. With that being said, what are the top 3 (or more) moments on Raw, SD or ECW that actually surprised you in a GOOD way.
If you count PPV events, I felt John Cena's return at the Royal Rumble was a fantastic surprise that WWE did a great job of keeping hidden until it was time to happen. My favorite surprises are usually whenever Roddy Piper shows up, and going back a few years, I loved the "ECW returns" angle in Atlanta (that was squashed by the end of the show when they formed the ECW-WCW Alliance).
What was Chris Jericho's last match in the original ECW?
Jericho's last match in the original ECW was on August 3, 1996, where 2 Cold Scorpio defeated him with a Shooting Star Press. The night before, in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, Jericho lost to Sabu in what I believe was their only singles meeting ever.
What wrestlers came out of the ECW wrestling school, the House Of Hardcore, run by Tazz and Saturn?
Chris Chetti, Danny Doring and Roadkill were all graduates of the ECW House Of Hardcore. There might have been others that trained there and later went on to debut in the ring, but those are the only three "graduates" I can recall.
