PWINSIDER Q&A: WARRIOR IN TNA, ROH IN NYC, PORTIA PEREZ, WHY DO THOSE WHO HAVE HEAT WITH WWE STILL HAVE WWE ACTION FIGURES & MORE

Is Warrior joining TNA?

I think there have been some feelers sent out, but nothing is for sure until it happens.  I personally wouldn't hold my breath.

Something has been bugging me for awhile.  Bruno Sammartino has long said that he would never do business with WWE again, but there's a WWE Classic Bruno action figure, so what gives?

What gives is that Sammartino, like Warrior and Bret Hart, cut deals directly with Jakks Pacific - the action figure company - as opposed to WWE itself.  In fact, it should be interesting to see if those deals continue with Jakks when their WWE license ends in 2010.

Did a female wrestler under the name Strawberry Fields retire voluntarily in early 2000 or did she have to retire due to an injury? I haven't heard her name or the names of a few other indy wrestlers in a while 2 others that come to mind are Mikey Batts and Laz (the guy that use to dress up like Brittany Spears for his gimmick and wrestled mainly in NWA Wildside.) haven't heard about Mikey since his WWE signing (which didn't last too long) and haven't heard about Laz in a while.

I asked around and in the case of all three, it was a case of simply moving on.  For every performer that makes it to the next level, there are others - talented or not - who aren't able to make the connections or improvement needed to get there.  That's the same in any industry.

With all the talk of such an evolution in women's wrestling, who is the most underrated female right now?

That's a really subjective question, but when I watch the SHIMMER DVDs, I always find myself going right to Portia Perez' matches.  I'm not sure if its her young, adorable look or the fact that for someone so young, she works really hard and has made  a ton of international tours, but I always seem to really enjoy her stuff.  For more on Perez, visit www.portiaperez.com   I also think a lot of fans haven't picked up on MsChif yet, another really great talent.  For more on MsChif, visit www.MsChif.net.  I also always Allison Danger's work as well.

How is it that Mike reported 2,100 fans for ROH in New York City, then jumped it up to 2,300?  I don't mean to sound jaded, but that's a little odd.

The 2,100 figure was an estimate an ROH employee gave me at the end of the night.  The 2,300 number was a number a source at the building - one that has been dead on correct in the past, allowing me to break the initial plans for the first One Night Stand PPV - provided a few days later when I had the chance to speak to the source.  That number was derived from the venue's internal estimate, created by someone with a clicker counting fans as they entered and matched with total number of tickets scanned by Hammerstein ticket takers.
