PWINSIDER Q&A: TRIPLE H & STEPHANIE, WCW ON VHS, TORRIE WILSON AND MORE

As everyone knows HHH and Stephanie McMahon are married but how did HHH manage to start dating her, surely Vince would have warned all wrestlers they would be sacked. How was Vince when he found out? Did anyone work stiff on HHH as punishment?

Supposedly, HHH and Stephanie began dating secretly, and kept it from Vince and others for a time.  As the story goes, Stephanie was forbidden to date wrestlers, thus the reason for the secrecy.  Supposedly, Triple H and Stephanie told Vince, and Vince accepted it.  Obviously, Vince is pretty happy with his son-in-law now, but I have no clue if he was at all annoyed by it at the time.  I can't recall ever hearing of any wrestler working stiff with Triple H as some sort of punishment.  If anything, some wrestlers felt it took guts to tell Vince that he was dating his daughter.

Do you guys know why there a few select WCW PPV's that were not released on VHS back in the day? For example, I know Fall Brawl 1997 and Spring Stampede 1998 were never released on VHS. Why did they release all the other PPV's and choose not to release these?

WCW's video releases were a horrible mess.  I believe it had a lot to do with the Turner video division, which had the rights to selling those shows.  There was just never any emphasis put on making sure all the events were available on home video, so you end up with the scattered and illogical list of video releases.  There were some great shows that never got released, while some mediocre shows ended up on video. I guess no one realized what a valuable revenue stream they could have been.

I think that the TWO world titles has finally run its course. When WWE first did the two champs it made more since because they had bigger talents and more storylines. The stuff they're putting on now becoming pretty bland. I think they should have a PPV where the World Title and WWE title become one. Edge would be the obvious person to win here. Now you have a really good young champ with a huge roster of great names to work with. They can use the ECW title still on Tuesdays for younger wrestlers. Your thoughts on this?

Without sounding too much like a politician, I can see both sides of the argument.  Certainly, having one World title would give greater emphasis on that belt, and make the title holder more important.  At the same time, it means you are locked into only one "World Title feud" with which to base PPV main events around.

If you refer to a tag team as the Tag Team Champion, then you are referring to a tag team. If you refer to them as Tag Team Champions, then you are referring to the two individuals. So, when ring announcers as of late start referring to a tag team champion as "one-half of the Tag Team Champions," that makes no sense what so ever. I guess, can this just be attributed to holdover of old references like when people refer to "the WWE?" Not many things bug me, but that one does.

Well, I guess you could also argue that without a partner (or, "other half") you can't be a tag team champion, so you are "half" of the champions.  I think it's just semantics.

Now that Torrie Wilson has officially been released from WWE, does she have a 90 day no compete clause forbidding her to sign with another company? Any chance she might sign with TNA after she fully recovers from her back problems?

Torrie Wilson asked for her release, and I imagine it contains the usual 90-day no compete, provided she is still being paid for the next 90 days.  That said, I absolutely do not see her going to TNA.  If Torrie wants back in wrestling, it will be with WWE.
