I really enjoy the site first off but i also have a question. You said in your 14/3/2008 Q&A that the 94 - 97 ECW was the best weekly TV you've ever seen. Do you know where I would be able to watch the old weekly shows and PPV's? or will I have to buy DVDs? Any help is appreciated.
Legally, the only place to view or buy ECW footage is World Wrestling Entertainment, as they own the rights to all of the original tape library. Pioneer Home Video put out a series of DVDs (which as a matter of full disclosure, I worked on as an author and researcher) which are worth tracking down if you can find them, but there are edits to music and other things that created the ECW atmosphere. WWE 24/7 features a History of ECW series, but again, lots of edits. Some of the old ECW videotapes that ECW sold themselves via the mail and at live events pop up on Ebay, but there are no official retail versions of the old ECW TV show, which in hindsight, I wish the company had done.
Is it me, or do Shawn Michaels eyes look different these days? Like he's cross-eyed or something? I'm not knocking him -- I'm wondering if he's hurt, had surgery or something to have caused this?
I've noticed it at times too, but I don't have any clear reasoning as to what the issue was or is.
It was reported that TNA was forced to turn away fans who wanted to attend Impact! tapings because of the shows being sold out. That the building was full to capacity. Any chance that TNA might seek to look for another facility to do their tapings within Universal Studios? One that is much bigger and can seat more fans.
No. First, the shows were free, so they weren't sold out. I don't see TNA moving into another soundstage at Universal Studios because they have been in their current one for some time and everything they could have or want is there. It's their home and honestly, other than PPVs and the special circumstances surrounding Wrestlemania weekend, they aren't going to be turning away a large contingent of fans, so moving isn't needed.
Have WWE given up Paul Burchill again already? After a few appearances on RAW he disappeared, I assumed it was due to the Wrestlemania hype. But three weeks on from the show he hasn't been back on TV. What are his future plans?
Burchill did work Raw last night in his native Great Britain, defeating Hacksaw Duggan. I don't know any details behind WWE seemingly giving up on the character after a few weeks, but hopefully things are changing for the better because Burchill is one hell of a talent and heel.
I've just finished reading a Bret Hart interview on The Sun website.
In it he
places high praise on Kenny Dykstra! I have not seen him on TV in a while - is
he
injured or does creative have nothing for him? What are your
opinions of him?
Surely Bret knows what he's talking about - shouldn't WWE Creative take note?
As we reported when it happened, Kenny Dykstra was out with a knee injury. He's recently returned the ring, but hasn't been placed in a prominent storyline or position since the end of the Spirit Squad. I think he has a hell of an upside, but chances are his youth and lack of tenure are being held against him creatively. He'll either sit around until someone had an idea for him (and hopefully by then, the crowd hasn't written him off) or we'll see him eventually end up elsewhere.
