PWINSIDER Q&A: ONE MORE MATCH FOR FLAIR, BILLY JACK HAYNES, TNA HOUSE SHOWS AND MORE

I just wanted your opinions and chances of the following. Being I'm in Baltimore, Maryland and that in numerous interviews Ric Flair has stated one of his all-time favorite arenas to wrestle in is the Baltimore Arena and I believe that is where Backlash is at this year, the chances of HHH winning the belt at WM 24,and Flair beating HBK in a very close bout, then Flair coming on Raw the next night and asks HHH for one last PPV title match. Obviously I'm a little greedy and the thought of a possible Flair finale live for me to see is awesome, but with Cena filming a movie after Mania, and HHH inducting Flair into the H.O.F and how close they are, I think would make for a very interesting and solid match and story.

I can't tell you what the chances are.  I think a lot of people have resigned themselves to the fact that Ric Flair is going to end his career this weekend on the "grandest stage of them all" against Shawn Michaels in what many are expecting will be a show stealing match.  However, the idea of Ric Flair getting to end his career in a main event, where the whole show is about him, is a great idea.

Yeah, I read on one of the other Q&A's that JR said Bob Backlund refused to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame because he says that he still has another run left in him. So let me ask you this. Do you think that Bob Backlund, at 57 years old, could make one last comeback and even become the WWE champion one more time?

Do I think he physically could handle such a run?  Yes.  Do I think WWE will even consider giving him such a run?  No.

How come the Billy Jack Haynes of Herb Abrams UWF doesn't look like the classic Billy Jack of PNW and WWE?

Well, we all get older, and Haynes was several years older at that point, plus he also changed his hairstyle. I can assure you, it was the same man.

Do you think there is a chance for a West Coast promotion to gain national prominence (National TV, touring, etc?)?

Sure, but like any promotion, it is going to take a lot of money and a great product to be able to get on national television and create enough of a following to support a national touring schedule. The biggest problem West Coast promotions have is that due to the way the population is spread out, it is hard to draw large crowds, while the East Coast, especially the Northeast, has a lot of densely populated cities within a short distance, making it easier to run a schedule of shows that will draw decent sized crowds.

With TNA doing house shows now--wouldn't it be in their best interest to tape everything and sell DVDs?

I believe Mike Johnson once made the suggestion on an Elite Audio hotline that TNA tape all the house shows with a simple one-camera setup and sell them in a no-frills packaging.  Fans who attend the show can order one as a "souvenir" of their TNA live event experience, and diehard TNA fans can put together a collection of every show. I think it's a great idea.  The old ECW "Fan Cams" did very well, and they were just handheld videos of the house shows.
