On the Steve Austin DVD, WWE features a tag match with Austin & Brian; Pillman taking on Rick Steamboat & Shane Douglas, but Steamboat and Douglas were masked. What was the storyline behind Steamboat and Douglas wearing all read outfits with masks? The announcers didn't pretend it wasn't them, and didn't really reveal the intentions behind the getup.
The storyline was that Steamboat and Douglas had dressed as 'Los Dos Hombres" in order to get another shot at the Tag Team titles after The Blondes refused them another one. After defeating the Blondes while masked as the Hombres, they kept the masks for inspiration. In reality, Shane Douglas was out injured and was just about to leave the company, so Tom Zenk was under the mask. It was pretty hokey.
Should the Undertaker gave a push to any upcoming youngster in his career, like Andre The Giant to Hogan and Hagan to The Rock ? My friends says that the Undertaker shouldn't be selfish and give his first defeat at WM to some up-coming youngster while I refuse completely because this is his legacy and should be remain undefeated .. any thoughts?
My feeling is that Undertaker should remain undefeated unless they can use that loss as a major storyline point that will draw them money down the line. It's a really unique part of the character's mythos, so it shouldn't be reduced to "giving someone the rub" unless they are in for the duration.
I remember at one time they were talking about Raw going three hours. Is this still a possibility or would people think that the show would be too long? If they did, wouldn't this help to get more guys on the show? Your thoughts.
With the exception of some specials from time to time, I don't believe there is still any talk of expanding Raw to three hours. From a creative point of view, there would be a lot of burnout from the expansion and it would be hard to promote three hour events you pay $45 for on PPV when you are giving three hour events away for free on cable every Monday.
Do you think an ECW superstar should be added to the Batista/Umaga Wrestlemania match so that all 3 brands are involved. Also, do you think it would help fans get into the match if something was at stake, such as the winner of the match getting a shot at the losers brand's world title at the next PPV?
No, I think adding another performer to the match would only muddy up and dilute a match that already feels like it was shoehorned onto the show because WWE didn't have anything for Batista. I do like adding a title shot stipulation, however.
Have you found out what a Bunnymania match is yet? Why don't they simply have a straight women's title match between champion Beth Phoenix against either Victoria, Mickie James or even the former OVW Women's champion Katie Lea?
A straight match isn't going to help the company sell Playboys.
