I just read the Q&A about the a former World champion winning the IC title and how that makes him look washed up and hurts the main- eventer and the title. I somewhat agree but not fully. If a main eventer like Y2J holds the title doesn't that give a better rub to the guy who beats him for the strap? Also, doesn't it give him explanation for why Jericho's not challenging for the WWE championship at the moment? All that being said I can agree that the IC title should go to an up and comer soon as Jericho doesn't need the belt to be relevant on Raw.
See, the difference here is that you see Jericho as a main-eventer. I don't any more. I see him as a guy who came back with a lot of build-up and, frankly, failed to live up to it. To me, he is an upper mid-card guy now. Having the IC strap may give Jericho " an excuse" as to why he isn't at the top of the card but it's just that, an excuse. The reason he isn't there is that he just didn't get over enough to stake out that spot on his return. To me, it's that simple.
Last year, we all know Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. My question regards his announcement that he was cashing it in at Wrestlemania XXIV. Was he given permission to make this statement? Did they really plan on him being in a main event championship match at Wrestlemania this year?
You don't see WWE contracted workers shooting on the microphone on WWE TV my friend. They value their paycheck and position too much to go into business for themselves so yes, that was the plan. Unfortunately, "outside circumstances" got in the way and it never happened.
I got a question for you. With the recent Jeff Hardy suspension and all and this being the second violation for him, I honestly feel a little bit betrayed by Jeff. I know that sounds a bit extreme but I am a huge mark for Jeff and I finally thought that some of the potential he had could be realized. So my question is this.... Is it wrong for me to feel betrayed by someone that I look up to and cheer for?
I don't think it's wrong for you to feel that way. Frankly, part of the deal that people make when they step into the public eye is that they become role models, admired people or whatever you want to call it to their fans. Fans invest their time and emotions in the stars, who benefit from that in their push, merchandise sales, etc. So, when they let you down, you have every right to be upset by it. In this case, Jeff certainly let you down. How you feel is understandable.
Guys my questions are about the WWE Industry News section on their website. I read an article about the WWE Industry News section on another website and it said that originally Vince McMahon was against having any news from your website posted in his new Industry News section. Then of course, Vince changed his mind and has supposedly hired someone to read your website and use your posted news on his website. Vince thinks if he uses your news on his website, more people will go to his website to read it. First question, do you think Vince will be successful in gaining more readers to his website by using your news? Second question, would you ever consider selling out to Vince and having you and the guys work for Vince? Your website is the best.
1) He may be able to get more people to read his site, I honestly don't know. My hunch is that most people that only read WWE.com do it because they don't know of any alternatives. My hunch is that people who do know of sites like this one won't abandon it because WWE.com is now cutting and pasting a few stories that they wouldn't have in the past.
2) Consider it? The only way I would do so, seriously, is if he offered me enough money to make myself, Mike and Buck millionaires. If he only offered enough to make me one, I would say no. I take Mike and Buck's financial health very seriously so if Vince made a huge offer (which I don't see happening by the way), I would owe it to them to talk about it before making any decisions. But in the end, I love what I do here and know I would hate what I would have to do there. I like being my own boss and I am someone who doesn't deal well with things I find to be stupid. That is why I didn't take a job with them the first time they offered it (and their booking was great then). Now? I know I would get myself fired within a week just for being honest.
How can anyone say CM Punk is in the "Doghouse" right now??? He is on TV every week (and don't lose every time) to the point, that there is nobody on the entire roster, that has more matches so far in 2008. Also, he is in a good spot at WrestleMania 24. Does only losing to Chavo Guerrero and Edge made you being in the doghouse? Wow, how many guys want to be in this doghouse right now???
It's easy, they open your mouth and say the words "CM Punk is in the doghouse". It's a phonetic thing. Seriously, I wouldn't agree with someone who said he is in the doghouse. I would agree with someone who said he could sure be pushed a lot better than he has been though. The guy has so much to offer and it hasn't been utilized as well as it could have been. Plus, why they don't push a guy who lives the straight edge lifestyle to the moon in the current climate is beyond me. So, doghouse? No. Pushed poorly? Yes.
