Do YOU believe that Flair is done after WM? I don't believe it and can't for the life of me figure out where everyone got the idea that it is a slam dunk that he is done after WM. Did I miss something? Did he ever say he was done after WM? If people love him so much, why are they determined to have him retire after WM?
The original plan going back many, many months, as we reported here at the time was Flair going into the Hall of Fame and then retiring at Wrestlemania 24. I sort of expect Flair will make it through Mania, if for no other reason than to swerve the fans, and WWE can do his retirement somewhere else, hopefully with a massive build befitting something of his legacy and stature. We'll see on March 30th.
How would an average wrestling fan that wants to become a writer for WWE go about applying? I know you probably hear this constantly, but I want to write for them. I watch the shows and I see a million times when I would have changed something for done something another way. Case in point, Cena/HHH/Orton on Monday could have been better with less. They had a shot with Cena and HHH facing off and talking back and forth with Orton in the background. I would have had Orton sneak up between them as they argued and given them a double RKO and stand over them looking down at them, then leave. That would have been a lot more powerful and gone a long way in establishing Orton as a player in this match and not just ANOTHER part of a Cena v. HHH match. Your thoughts?
Anyone who wants to apply to work for World Wrestling Entertainment can find available positions at www.wwe-careers.com or by watching the entertainment industry trade journals, as the company solicits there. They are more interested in those with professional TV writing backgrounds than they are with wrestling fans who think they know the business, so have that resume prepped if you do apply.
Is Mickie James really going to be left out of Wrestlemania? Why Melina? Why Candice Michelle? Neither have the support from the crowd that James has, why is she constantly left out of big programs? Is she out of favor with management?
James isn't out of favor, but WWE wanted to push the Playboy aspect of their Divas as part of the Wrestlemania synergy, so unless James was going to turn heel or pose for the Magazine, neither of which happened, she is going to be relegated to being a lumberjack outside the ring. I don't see it as a knock on her as much as the company simply going with Maria and Michelle as their Diva babyfaces.
I'll be attending my first Wrestlemania this year, any suggestions on how to make it the very best it could possibly be without spending a million dollars? I was thinking about doing the Charity Breakfast but $125 for bagles seems a little over the top for me, even if it is for a good cause. Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Well, if you wanted to get the most wrestling for your dollar, TNA has three free tapings, plus ROH will probably give you the most in-ring wrestling on any of the live shows. If you are looking for autographs, your best bet is to hit up the Wrestlemania AXXESS events by getting their early as those events will have free signings. ROH has a fanfest as well. Another thing you can do to cut costs is not buy any Mania merchandise, since it will be marked down within a month on WWE's Shopzone website. A $25 shirt will be $15 within a month of the show.
I used to be a big fan of The Outsiders. I like to collect old tapes and things that havent been converted to dvd yet by the WWE. It seems as though Hall and Nash didn't have that many great matches after they moved from WWE to WCW. Do you have any recommendations on any really good Outsider matches from old WCW events?
Honestly, I'm drawing a blank here. Good promos and angles, sure. Good matches? Good luck finding those. Neither of those guys were work horses during that period, not in an in-ring sense.
