Hey, any chance that after Ric Flair is retired at Mania he is seen backstage (about to leave the building) telling Jeff Hardy to not wait too long to cash in his MITB, only for Jeff to cash it in and win it that Night. Seems a perfect way to end WrestleMania to me, thoughts?
There are quite a few people, including our own Dave Scherer, who have fronted that Hardy scenario for Wrestlemania and I personally think it would be a great way to end the evening. Flair being involved would make it even cooler, but who's to say Flair will retire at Mania for sure? WWE can change plans at any point.
Were the nWo, as a group, the best heels ever?
Not in my opinion. While the NWO concept got over, it got over because it was a cool group of former WWF names running roughshod over WCW. Even though they were the heels of the company, they very rarely acted like heels when it came time for the most important part of the storyline, letting the faces get their revenge. I could come up with a dozen heels units that were better than the NWO, including the Four Horsemen, the Midnight Express and The Fabulous Freebirds. The NWO as a concept was greatly executed, but best heels ever? No way.
I personally think that it is a waste of valuable television time with the whole Maria and Playboy thing. The great thing is that Santino gets to dazzle us again with his mic work. I feel sorry for Beth Phoenix whom is holding a title that is meaningless now. Do you think that it is wrong that the WWE focuses more on no talent “pretty†faces that will strip down for Playboy rather than the actually good wrestlers like Mickie and Melina? Do you foresee Vince and creative ever waking up and bringing back good women’s matches like the old days with Lita & Trish?
WWE's Women's division has never been about great wrestling, although at times we are lucky enough to get some good matches out of the equation. The wrestling, however, has always been a backdrop to the beauty and sexy allure of the females. Pick up any WWE Divas DVD and you'll see what I mean. The wrestling is the last thing that is important when it comes to their marketing. The Playboy deal is a huge part of the Wrestlemania promotional machine, and as we saw last night, Maria's angle gets a huge reaction live, so while you may not like it, there's a segment of the audience that is into it.
Why did TNA switch the briefcase from Senshi to Christopher Daniels? If Senshi asked for his Release and it was given to him, then it makes sense that he would have kept the case where he would be fired. Seems to me that they had the storyline perfect. If Senshi is leaving anyway, then why would they switch the case over to the Fallen Angel? It makes even less sense to me than Scott Steiner having an X Division Title match and Petey Williams having a World Title match. What exactly is TNA thinking here and what is going to happen with Christopher Daniels now that he has been "fired"?
Daniels is wrestling under a mask as Curry Man currently. His on air departure was always part of the briefcases storyline, but Senshi asked out of the company and finished up his dates.
Any update on Low Ki's injury?
The word making the rounds is that he will be out of action up to six months due to the knee injury he suffered in New Japan. That was really a horrible break for him as one of his goals has been to work a New Japan Tokyo Dome show.
