PWINSIDER Q&A: BOOKER T IN THE HALL OF FAME, WWE EDITING BRET'S BOOK,. SHANE MCMAHON AS WWE CHAMP & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-02-26 11:31:26

Regarding Booker T. Is he a future HOFer? He was a World Champ and 5 Time (5 Time) WCW Champ. Numerous US Titles and Tag Team Titles, and a IC title stint. People are in there with less, but with the way he exited the WWE there is no way it will happen anywhere near the time he retires right? Also (as much as I really love his work), he was never really viewed as a top guy was he? He was the 5 time (5 time) champ of a sinking ship (not his fault) and I get the feeling people  in WWE saw his World Title reign as a transitional thing. Heck, maybe I'm wrong. Thoughts?

Well, he's currently working for the opposition, so until that little matter is cleared up, No.  As a performer, I don't think there's any doubt that he was one of the best veterans WWE has had and one of the top African-American performers of the modern era.  To me, both of those factors, plus his World title runs, which weren't massively huge from a drawing aspect, but were important to WCW, get him in down the line.

Quick question for you all, do you ever think they would put the belt on Shane McMahon, the same way that Vince held it. The old saying, like father like son. Thanks.

I could totally see them giving Shane McMahon a run with the ECW title, but the World or WWE belts, no way.  They are too important in the week to week scheme of things and Shane wouldn't have the time to go on the road regularly with all of his corporate duties.

Are there plans to bring back 'WWE Presents MSG Classics' on the MSG network? I thought it was a great show and brought back a lot of welcome memories.

I haven't heard of any concrete plans to bring the series back, but it was always designed to appear on a sporadic basis when the network needed programming.

Hey guys, how legit is the UK's tabloid Sun newspaper about Hogan starting his new federation? Why would Hogan AGAIN be on bad terms with WWE after what he said about missing WWE on the anniversary of Raw? I was hoping for Hogan to be on WWE programming again and now this!? Why do they keep falling out?

It's not legitimate at all.  As we broke here on PWInsider.com, it's more a wrestling reality series program featuring celebrities that is currently in negotiations with CMT.

Just reading the report on the WWE trying to secure the rights for the American release of Bret Hart’s autobiography (amazing read btw), and it was said that they wanted some parts of the book changed.  Any specifics known on what parts WWE wanted changed?

My guess would be the entire verse, since much of it was critical of Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels and Triple H, going as far as to say they murdered what professional wrestling used to be.
