I have been reading where WWE's Victoria has been losing matches recently to both Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool. Two women with far, far less wrestling experience than her. This reminds me when Nora Greenwald, before she departed the WWE, did jobs for both Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler. Both women who didn't have the experience and skill to be wrestlers defeating a seasoned pro. It happened to Nora Greenwald and now the indignity is being displayed toward Victoria. Why? What has she done to deserve such treatment?
Victoria hasn't done anything. What she is doing is taking her role as a veteran and working with younger, inexperienced performers and helping them improve. In regard to her losing matches, there's a reason it's booked that way and that's to help promote and push the fresher characters. I don't think anyone in the company would see it as a knock on Victoria that she's losing matches, although I am with you in that I'd like to see her get a stronger push.
Throughout the history of sporting events fights between opposing teams have unfortunately taken place. Football, Baseball, Basketball and Soccer have all experienced brawls on their respected fields of battle. To your knowledge, has a fight between fans and wrestlers ever taken place within the United States resulting in police being brought in?
There have been a number of fights through the years. I remember being at one such brawl at an ECW show in Jim Thorpe, PA. There was also an infamous incident at a Smoky Mountain show in Wise, West Virginia, which some say was precipitated by Jim Cornette uttering a racial slur and others said was the fault of a fan who was removed and returned with his friends.
Does WWE use the exact same size ring at house shows that they use at TV’s and PPV’s? I was recently at a house show and thought the ring looked way small. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to seeing it on TV?
It's the exact same ring you see on TV. The TV perception is often that the ring is larger than it actually is.
When wrestlers do shoot interviews, do they get paid 1 lump sum or do they get some sort of commission depending on how many DVDs are sold?
Most of the shoot interviews I've heard of feature the talents getting a lump sum payment up front and then the companies that sell them (hopefully, for them) make their money back by selling them.
After WCCW was sold to Jerry Jarrett, who ran the Sportatorium in Dallas TX? Also, how come Vince never ran a show there?
After Jerry Jarrett bought WCCW, he obviously ran there, as did Joe Pedicino and Max Andrews with the Global Wrestling Federation and CWA, as well as numerous other indy groups. I can't say why Vince McMahon never ran there for sure, but my belief is that the WWF saw it as a small venue that was beneath the company. Why sell 1,500 seats in a market when you can run a 20,000 seat venue?
