First off I want to say that I really enjoy you're site, I think you guys do a great job keep it up. Now, I don't want to come off as a typical "Cena Hater" and just rant and rave about how bad the guy is. I think he obviously works very hard and tries his best to get over with the fans and I don't blame him for a lot of his problems. That being said, I am deeply bothered by the way that WWE pushes him as this invincible underdog character. I mean lets face it he is far from being the best guy in the ring, but every time he comes on he wins in the most ridiculous fashion. He basically get his butt kicked for the entire match, receives approximately 37 different finishing moves, breaks about 1000 "2 counts" and then hits the "F U" to win the match after he's been beaten to the point of comatose. Then they try and make him look like a "Rocky Balboa" type of character who is woefully overmatched, when its useless because you know that he is never going to lose. Do you think this is a good assessment, and where do you agree or disagree?
I think at least you put the blame where it's due, on WWE creative. They are the ones who book Cena the way that they have. I think you make some good points and you explained why you don't like how Cena has been booked without blaming the guy himself for it. I don't totally agree with how you see it, but there is a certain Hulk Hogan in the 80s booking comparison to be made to how Vince has used Cena.
With all of the talk and ideas being thrown around for Wrestlemania, I have a couple of match ideas and would to know what you think. The first is Batista vs. Umaga. Aside from the obvious, the storyline reason for this could stem from the fact that Batista eliminated Umaga in the Royal Rumble. Second, what about Chris Jericho vs. Ken Kennedy? I like the idea of these two having a feud for obvious reasons.
I think Umaga and Batista could have a good brawl, so that would work for me. With Kennedy in MITB, the other one is off the table now.
My first question is a loaded one about Kurt Angle. Do people within TNA dislike him? I recently read an interview with him and he stated that his name alone is bigger than TNA. Whether or not that is true (it might have more recognition, but the company would be fine without him), saying something like that, or that he was in all ten of the top ten matches of the year, is ridiculous. Secondly, why does he have so much backstage power in TNA? It is like he is TNA's version of Triple H. Your thoughts?
From what I hear, workers in TNA at times get tired of Angle dominating the show, as would most lower card guys in any company. He is also said to be a lot less glib backstage than he was earlier in his career. It's fair to say that at least some of the wrestlers think Kurt has a high opinion of himself.
He has the stroke he does because he came into the company from WWE as a high profile talent, probably the biggest name the company ever signed. He ingratiated himself with management and took on the mantle of being the recognizable face of the company. Now, he can definitely be looked at, from a power standpoint, as the Triple H of TNA.
Did The Undertaker tattoo over his "Sara" neck tattoo? I thought it looked a little different.
Yes he did.
I have a question, why don't big wrestlers such The Undertaker, Kane, and The Big Show have long title reigns? It just seems like these guys either get a short or no title reign. Wouldn't it make sense to have one of these guys hold a major title for a reign as long as Randy Orton or John Cena?
Here's the problem that the booker sees. A guy like Taker or Show is so big that they really don't need the belt to be over. Their size gets them that before they ever step in the ring, at least in theory. And if they hold it for a long time, it makes the smaller guys look less credible when they wrestle the big guys and lose. It's almost as if they think it makes a Cena or Orton look tougher since he holds the belt and Show or Taker doesn't. With that said, Taker was scheduled for a long title run last year before being hurt, so it also depends on the person, plus his interview and skill set.
