PWINSIDER Q&A: BIG SHOW, WEST TEXAS REDNECKS, GAIL KIM AND MORE

Since The WWF/E is bringing The Big Show back, Do you believe that he is going to be the opponent for Ric Flair at Wrestlemania and the wrestler that will put him into retirement? If not, Why is he coming back??? I thought The Big Show was retired and trying to heal his injuries and spending time with his wife?? What made The Big Show have a change of Heart??

I absolutely do not think Big Show will be the opponent for Ric Flair at Wrestlemania.  There is hardly any history between them (save for a WCW Title change), and I doubt that is the type of match any Ric Flair fan wants to see for his final bout.  As for why he is coming back, the reason is money.  He spent over a year healing injuries, enjoying life, and event playing with the idea of trying boxing.  Obviously, he realizes that if he wants to rake in some more cash in wrestling, now is the time to do it, while he is still young enough (and remembered enough) to do it.

One thing that pissed me off about WCW is that The West Texas Rednecks never got a good face push. If that ever happened, do you think Hennig and Co. would have gotten over, merchandise wise like DX or nWo? Maybe it's silly, but I sometimes wish I had a T-Shirt from those guys. They cracked me up.

WCW absolutely could have made money off the West Texes Rednecks, but sadly, that "wasn't the plan".  Remember, the braintrust at WCW thought the No-Limit Soldiers, a large group of unknowns, led by rapper Master P, would be the babyfaces against a four-man team of established wrestlers (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham & Bobby Duncum Jr.) in a company that had previously catered towards a country-music loving Southern audience. The fans, decided to cheer for the outnumbered wrestlers they knew over a bunch of guys in camouflage they had no connection with.  WCW right there should have started pumping out WTR shirts and pushing them as faces, but they didn't, because it "wasn't the plan".

I've seen various matches featuring the Japanese female wrestlers and I noticed that there is a great of yelling and screaming during the matches. What is the reason for this? Is it to rattle your opponent? To force them to lose focus?

Sure, those two reasons work.  It is also to sell the effort the women are making in the ring.

What's the latest concerning Torrie Wilson and her back problems? Has she seen Dr. James Andrews yet?

I haven't heard anything about Torrie seeing Dr. Andrews or even considering surgery.  I believe she is resting the injury at home and hoping it improves.

How's Gail Kim doing after suffering from a partial concussion at the hands of Awesome Kong on last week's Impact?

That was a storyline concussion to explain her taking some time off to have a ruptured breast implant repaired.
