PWINSIDER Q&A: THE FIRST WRESTLER TO STRIKE VINCE MCMAHON (AND IT WASN'T BRET HART), LUCHADORS LOSING THEIR MASKS IN WCW & MORE

What is the story behind Nailz attacking Vince McMahon and where is he today?

Kevin Wacholz, who portrayed Nailz, had an issue with the Summerslam 1992 payoff he received and got into a spat with Vince McMahon about it backstage, leading to him striking and going after McMahon.  At the time, he told local authorities that McMahon tried to attack him and he was defending himself, but there was nothing to the story.  He never worked for the company again, but did a few appearances for WCW in 1993 and worked pretty regularly on the indy scene until mid-1994, when he faded from the scene.  I believe he lives in the Minnesota area.

I read where WWE's JBL was a very wealthy man "a thousand times over". If true, why continue working for the WWE? He certainly doesn't need the money.

JBL has done very well for himself in both pro wrestling and the financial world.  As for why he still works for WWE?  He makes a great salary, it's something he has a passion for, and it provides him a platform to do a lot of USO-related charity work.  It's easy to see why he remains with the company.

I remember watching a match in WCW featuring mexican superstar Psycosis. He lost. The stipulation was that if he lost, he would unmask, which he did. Why would he do that? Why would he consent to do such an act? I always assumed that wrestlers from Mexico considered wearing a mask an honor. A symbol of pride. Before Rey Mysterio, Jr. joined the WWE, did he also lose his mask in WCW?

Mysterio and Psicosis both lost their masks in WCW.  It was pretty controversial at the time because their masks pretty much represented their past, their legacy and their personas, but they were under contract to WCW and they had to do what they were booked to do by Eric Bischoff.  Both lost a ton of their momentum and in the case of Psicosis, he never regained it.  When Rey was signed by WWE, they decided to wisely put the mask back on him.

What do you think of the idea for TNA to put on a contest called the "Queen of the Ring"? Something similar to the WWE's "King of the Ring" where a tournament is held every week on Impact! featuring the women of TNA as well women wrestlers from outside the promotion.

The last thing anyone needs to suggest to TNA is yet another tournament and honestly, the Queen of the Ring name would come across like a lame ripoff of a WWE concept, something else TNA needs to distance itself from as much as possible as they try to build their brand name.

Recently I have see the IGF's fake IWGP World title referred to as the IWGP Third Belt Championship, and wondered what is the story behind that name?

That's simply the name New Japan Pro Wrestling has opted to give the title since they are in the process of unifying it with their recognized IWGP belt and calling it the "fake" belt would hardly lend an aura of credibility to the title or Kurt Angle, who currently holds it.
