PWINSIDER Q & A: OWEN IN THE HALL OF FAME, WHAT IF BRET HAD WISED UP IN MONTREAL, CHYNA'S FACE, BIGGEST PWINSIDER BLUNDER AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2008-01-02 10:00:01

First off great job with the site. Ok my question is regarding the biggest blunder PWInsider has made in reporting news, Several times it has been reported Sting never worked for WWF/WWE but apparently he really did when he worked the final nitro when WWE did IN FACT own WCW. Is this the biggest blunder that has been reported on the site? P.S. ya gotta admit anyway ya look at it he DID work for a WWE owned firm.

He really did not work for WWE.  He was not paid by WWE for that appearance on Nitro the day that WCW changed hands.  He was paid by Time Warner under the terms of his contract with them.  His contract was not purchased by WWE and thus he did not work for them.  Nice try though!

I have been watching old WWF Superstars tapes that I have saved over the years. I found a 20-year old match between Hercules and Ken Patera. This was the one where Harley Race interfered when Patera had Hercules in a bear hug. Heenan was at ringside with a neck brace. I remember he was injured in an angle shortly after Wrestlemania 3, where they had a debate with Heenan and Patera, and Patera choked out Heenan with a belt. I was wondering why after Patera's initial strong push after being released from prison, why was he depushed into a glorified jobber months later?

Basically, Patera never really got over the way that the companyy hoped he would.  He was pushed as a strong man but he wasn't as big as guys like Hulk Hogan, and he didn't have a lot of personality so his character never connected with the WWF's new audience.  So, when he didn't get over, that was pretty much it for him.

Obviously there's not a for sure answer here but what do you think would have happened during the Screwjob match if Bret Hart would have noticed Earl Hebner get up from his bump and Bret was able to loosen himself away from Shawn before getting locked in the Sharpshooter? I wonder if Vince would still call for the bell anyways.

I think that Vince would have still called for the bell and stripped Hart of the belt for some other bogus reason.  It's not like anyone really thought that Bret submitted or lost that night anyway.  Everyone knew that Bret was "screwed" by Vince McMahon so Vince would have just done it another way if Bret had wised up sooner.

If by some chance Owen Hart is elected to the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2008,who do you see being the one who inducts him? Even though Bret's relationship with Vince has warmed up a bit, I don't see that happening. Also as far as I believe, Owen's widow Martha wants nothing to do with the company. So who do you believe will do the honors if the opportunity does come up?

Obviously, a lot of things would have to happen for Owen to be inducted and I don't see there being any chance of it taking place this year.  If it ever were to happen, Martha Hart would have to change her feelings toward WWE and I don't see much chance of that at this point in time.  If she and the family ever agreed to it, Bret is really the only one I could ever see inducting his brother.

After watching the 15th anniversary Raw DVD, I remember being scared to death when I saw Chyna for the first time since her facial surgery. My question is how could she possibly wrestle knowing how tender one's face is after having all of that work done to her jaw? Did she suffer any facial injuries or deformities because of all the hard hits she took?

When she first came back, she and those she worked with worked around her surgeries until she was past 100%.  She was ready to go when she came back but they took it easy at first just to make sure everything was OK.  From what I remember, she never had an problems due to the surgery.
