PWINSIDER Q&A: HARDCORE AND EUROPEAN TITLES, VINCE MCMAHON, DIVA SEARCH AND MORE

Whatever happened to the WWE Hardcore and European championships?

The European title was unified with the Intercontinental Title when Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy in a ladder match on July 22, 2002.  The Hardcore title was unified with the Intercontinental Title when Rob Van Dam defeated Tommy Dreamer on August 26, 2002.

I noticed on the Wrestlemania Anthology DVDs that a lot of theme music has been changed.  Why is that?

In almost every case where that happens, it is because WWE's license to use the song has expired, and rather than paying publishing fees and royalties to get the rights to the song again, WWE instead chooses not to use the music. It is a pet peeve for many, but I can understand WWE not wanting to pay royalties to use a song that in all honesty isn't a major draw for people to purchase the DVDs.

Does Vince McMahon attend WWE house shows on weekends, or does he typically just attend the main shows (Raw, Smackdown, PPVs, etc)?

For the most part, Vince McMahon doesn't attend house shows regularly anymore, but he will attend certain events on occasion.  Vince is always at every televised event.

Does WWE rig the Diva Search?

I highly doubt it, since I don't see the point in doing so.  They hire any of the losers they see potential in anyway, so why bother rigging it?

With Kurt Angle in TNA, do you see WWE making a DVD set with Kurt's best matches?

In the near future?  I would say no.  Considering the current relationship (or lack of one) between them, I don't see WWE rushing to put together a DVD collection.
