PWINSIDER Q&A: WWE'S JACKASS ANGLE STILL TAKING PLACE?, TEDDY HART, PENNY BANNER, RESPECTED FEMALES IN WWE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2007-12-09 10:00:53

Are they still plans for the WWE to bring in the Jackass guys in the near future. I know they were to appear at Summerslam but that got cancelled, since then I have heard Royal Rumble! Hornswoggle vs. Wee-Man would be a great in a cage Match.

It's was at least discussed for the Royal Rumble since the Jackass video game is actually running a contest where the winner is sent to New York City for the PPV, but I haven't heard anything major about it in recent weeks.  My guess is that if they are going to do an angle for it, it would happen sometime after Armageddon and it would hinge on the involvement of Johnny Knoxville.  Since Knoxville is working on a third Jackass film (in 3-D, no less), they could always look to do the angle then to help market the film.

Does Beth Phoenix have heat with the females in the locker room for putting so many on the shelf? Do they blame her at all or are they considered just freak accidents?

The only person who was hurt wrestling Phoenix that I recall was Candice Michelle and that was considered a freak accident.  There's no heat on Phoenix among the other females in the company.

Of all the women on the roster, which get the most respect from the male wrestlers? I would think that the male wrestlers would respect the females that are actual in-ring performers more then the ones that are eye candy, but you tell me. I would guess Beth and Mickie and Victoria, but who really has the respect of the male wrestlers for their ability?

I would think that just like the men working for the company, the women that are most respected among their peers are the ones who work the hardest inside the ring and have the longest tenure with the company.  I'm not going to guess with names because such an opinion would be subjective and would differ from person to person.

I recently caught a match with Teddy Hart and did some research on the kid. My question is simple, where does this kid get off acting like he does? I've seen nothing special in this kid other then he can fly like an old Jeff Hardy rip off. He's not doing anything new!! He's doing the same moves that other, more charismatic wrestlers, have been doing for years. He's got nothing outside of his spot-fest style of wrestling to make me want to watch him. The good wrestlers can always tell a story or make both wrestlers in the ring look good, but watching Teddy you can almost see him going through the routine in his head during a match and just waiting for his chance to do a big spot. He's more like a performer at Disney or Universal Studios then a wrestlers so where does this kid get off having the attitude he does?

I disagree with you in saying that Hart doesn't have charisma.  He can certainly captivate live crowds and I've seen him do it in Ring of Honor, CZW and Jersey All Pro Wrestling.  His work inside the ring is certainly more high spot oriented and that was one of the knocks on him during this most recent run with WWE when he was released from a developmental deal.  As for why Hart acts the way he does, I think part of it is immaturity and part of it is Hart trying to play up a crazy character in the vein that Brian Pillman did.  I've seen Hart actually do such a great job selling and acting hurt that a female fan tried to physically assault JAPW promoter Frank Iadevia and then called the local police to report an assault after an angle, so he can succeed at captivating fans.  Whether he's able to overcome the weaknesses that WWE perceived he has and make a run of it nationally there or somewhere else, remains to be seen.

I read one time where legendary female wrestler Penny Banner was undergoing treatments for cancer. Is this true? If so, how is she doing these days?

Penny Banner, who is a remarkably wonderful lady is still undergoing treatments to battle the disease and we wish her well.  You can find out more about the former AWA Women's champion and her career at www.BannerDays.com.
