PWINSIDER Q&A: MICHAELS USING THE SHARPSHOOTER, SWITCHING CM PUNK AND JEFF HARDY, CHERRY, RIC FLAIR AND MORE

I was re-watching Cyber Sunday 2007, and a thought came to mind during the Hady/Kennedy bout: If the CS voting is legit, how did they book the match? They surely didn't let Jeff and Ken go and wing it, right?

All sources have said the voting is legit, however I would imagine WWE checked out the totals well in advance and knew what was going to win, and thus let Kennedy and Hardy know.  At the same time, the three wrestlers (including Shawn Michaels) could have gone over a basic outline for any of the three possible matches just to be ready.  And also, it is not unusual for two wrestlers to just call a match in the ring, so it is very possible Hardy and Kennedy simply went out there with a finish, and "winged it" the rest of the bout.

If Shawn Michaels can't use the Superkick at Survivor Series, what are the chances of him using the Sharpshooter?

I would not be shocked at all to see a Sharpshooter used at some point in the match.  If Shawn does use it, it will be interesting to see what kind of reaction he gets from the crowd.

What is the deal with Cherry? She has never done anything in WWE, she is useless. Why is it that WWE has never included her in a match, a bikini contest or something, even when all the divas do things together like the battle royal a few weeks ago on Raw?

I imagine with her gimmick, it wouldn't make sense for her to be in a bikini contest (although, her wearing a 50's-style swimsuit in a contest would be funny).  I don't have a problem with a valet being "just" a valet, and in fact I would prefer it to seeing another performer in the ring that probably shouldn't be wrestling.

I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about Ric Flair retiring, probably at Wrestlemania. Since there is so much speculation about this I was thinking what is the possibility of this scenario: Ric Flair ending The Undertaker’s WM streak next year as his retirement match, maybe in a World Title match. Since both are Smackdown stars and Undertaker is returning (hopefully to regain the title) it would be great to start a feud between the two, maybe having Flair win the Royal Rumble and sending him off at the top. What are your thoughts?

It is an interesting scenario, but I don't see WWE giving Flair a Royal Rumble win, the World Title, a Wrestlemania main event and the honor of ending Undertaker's streak.  I'm not saying Flair doesn't deserve such a final push for his retirement, I just don't see WWE doing all four things with Flair in one shot.

I was watching ECW last night and had a thought: with the whole issue of Vince not wanting to put Jeff Hardy into a top role on RAW, what about switching he and Punk, at least temporarily? Punk gets a push on the main brand and exposure to a new audience, and Hardy gets the top role on ECW and may bring some viewers over from RAW. While I don't like losing my Hardy  fix on Monday nights, I thought it was an interesting idea to float by you guys.

I actually think that is a great idea.  There is nothing more for Punk to accomplish on the ECW brand, and it would be interesting to see how he would do on Raw and whether he could continue to be successful.  At the same time, Jeff Hardy's popularity could actually have quite the impact on ECW, and it would give the brand a new "flagship performer" to build around.
