I was watching ECW tonight and the Kane, BDV, Mark Henry, Khali angle sparked an idea. Now, alone none of those wrestlers keep me tuning in or peek my interest all that much, but what if creative were to pair the 4 of them up in a stable. Maybe make Kane the mouthpiece and leader of the group and they begin to wreak terror on the WWE across all three brands. Maybe even throw the strap on Kane. You have this four man unstoppable team raising hell in the WWE. A force that no one man can stop, then you have Undertaker and maybe Triple H rally the troops to try and bring down these four monsters. It seems if the stable were built into an unstoppable force where veterans and rookies are teaming together to bring down this force may make for some interesting storylines. Your thoughts?ÂÂÂÂÂ
I like the idea of a "monster stable" running roughshod over the company and others standing up against them. However, the match quality with those four as half of every major bout might be downright scary. Big Daddy V works best in short bouts, Mark Henry runs hot and cold at times, and Kane goes through periods of having some pretty poor bouts. And then there's Great Khali, who has never had what I would actually call a good match, although John Cena did manage to carry him to an entertaining ten minutes once.
Suppose that the nWo angle never took off and the WCW never achieved the ratings it did during the 84-week winning streak. What do you think would have happened with the WWF as far as changes with to their product and who they pushed as top stars? Do you think that Austin, The Rock, Foley, and HHH would still become the breakout stars of that era?
If the nWo angle never took off, but Hogan, Savage, Hall, Nash, etc. had still gone to WCW, then I think Austin, Rock, Foley and HHH still would have become stars. However, if WCW never beat up WWF in the ratings, I don't know if they would have been so quick to take the ECW concepts and adapt them as "WWE Attitude" which obviously helped to make those stars.
What do you think, if he was able to and wanted to, of Mick Foley filling in the place of Benoit on ECW? I know its a bit far fetched, but Mick was known in ECW, and is in my opinion on of the most hardcore guys around. Do you think he would make sense in that role, and that it may bring a little "old school" ECW feel and hardcore sense back to the stagnant brand?
I just don't see Mick Foley working a full-time in-ring schedule, and I certainly don't see him having main-event level matches at this point in his career. Foley could certainly add something to the brand, but I don't see him stepping into the role of leading or carrying ECW at this point.
With all the hype, chants, and "rumors" that Chris Jericho is debuting with WWE soon, do you think WWE dragging it out has some influence with Triple H? I can't remember the last time someone (re)debuted with this much anticipation, not even Trips back at SummerSlam, so is there some jealousy there?
I don't believe the "delay" (if there really has been one) with Chris Jericho returning to WWE has anything to do with Triple H, however, it wouldn't shock me if there was some professional jealousy (which, of course, will never be admitted) by Triple H that the fans are obviously more excited for his return than they were for "The Game" coming back. At the same time, Jericho has been gone a lot longer, so any jealousy would be a bit silly.
With Vince & Steph being upset about info being leaked to the internet, why don't they just make their performers / employees sign confidentiality agreements?
Honestly, having a signed confidentiality agreement won't stop people from talking, and the agreement doesn't do WWE any good if they don't "catch" those who talk. And to be blunt, if WWE could prove that someone was leaking out information, they'd probably discipline (or fire) them anyway.
