I was a wondering what ever happened to former MLW Champion Satoshi Kojima? I was quickly becoming a fan of his work but as soon as MLW died, he disappeared from American TV. I know he is now in his late 30’s but couldn’t he be one of those Japanese stars that could do well in either a TNA or WWE?
Satoshi Kojima is one of the top stars for All Japan Pro Wrestling, at one point holding the Triple Crown, the top championship in All Japan. He certainly has the skill to be a top star in TNA or WWE, despite the obvious language barrier, but I can't see him leaving a career as one of the top ten singles stars in all of Japan right now to come and work as a mid-carder in the U.S.
I was just reading Guitar World and they mention that Bob Mould of Husker Du was a part of the WCW creative Team for a time. Under what regime was he a part of and how on earth did he get the job?
Mould, who was a huge fan and friend with Kevin Nash and Kevin Sullivan, got involved in WCW in late 1999. However, due to a disagreement with the direction that Vince Russo started taking the company in, Mould left. Then, when WCW Executive Vice-President Bill Busch decided that WCW needed to get away from Russo's vision and return to a more "wholesome" product, Mould was brought back to be part of a booking committee with Russo, Nash, Sullivan, Mike Graham and Ed Ferrara. This resulted in Russo opting out. So, booking was taken over by Kevin Sullivan, but Mould didn't stay for long. WCW then later had another booking shift back to Russo (and briefly Eric Bischoff). Oh, and Guitar World is a great magazine!
On a recent Elite audio hotline, I heard you guys mention that Booker T's morale went down after being drafted from Smackdown to Raw a few months back. As I recall, when he was originally moved to Smackdown a couple of years ago, he cut a few promos about being unhappy about the move, and how he thought Raw was better. Was he genuinely unhappy about that first move at the time, and his promos were worked shoots, or was it just a storyline that woudl later prove to be prophetic?
The promos that Booker cut then were simply part of the storyline. He was really unhappy about the switch to Raw a few months ago, as he felt the King Booker character would not be given the time to succeed the way it had been on Raw.
When Orton won the WWE Heavyweight Belt from Cena, why did WWE not go back to the non-spinning WWE Belt. Cena will be out for a long time. To have a belt with Cena on it and not have Cena the Champ is dumb. Do you know why WWE did this?
Well, the spinner belt actually doesn't have Cena's name on it, it now has Orton's. Also, the "spinner" part has been locked into place, so it no longer spins. Personally, I would like to see WWE go with a different belt design (I'm not a big fan of "CHAMP" on a belt instead of "Champion") but for now, this is what WWE is going with.
Bob "Hardcore" Holly has one of the longest runs in the WWF/E as a wrestler and has little to show for it. He is a 6xWWF/E Hardcore Champion,2x WWF/E World Tag Team Champion and has one shot against Brock Lesnar for the WWF/E World Championship. He has always had the wrestling ability and the fans either like him or hate him. I know he won't become either Raw or Smackdown Heavyweight Champion, But with Jeff Hardy being considered a serious opponent for WWF/E Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, Shouldn't Holly finally be given a shot at being WWF/E Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion? I know he was almost IC Champion against Jeff Jarrett. What do you think?
I think Bob Holly falls into the "good hand" category that Val Venis, Stevie Richards and others fall into. They will have a spot on the roster, but they just won't be getting that many opportunities to rise above mid-card status. The best Holly could probably hope for is a tag title run, and if WWE goes with the tentative plan to make Holly and Cody Rhodes a tag team, it might happen.
