Has any of the 5 new TNA Knockouts from Bound for Glory signed with TNA? I don't see any new pictures on their web site.
TNA sent out a mobile alert via their service that they had signed Awesome Kong, but I haven't heard of any others being signed yet.
It was reported that during TNA's Bound for Glory pay per view, their own website went down. Someone called it bad news. Why was TNA's website going down during Bound for Glory deemed bad news? Any reason given as to why it happened?
It was bad news because the company's website crashed due to record amounts of users trying to access it during the PPV. That means that fans were interested in what happened, but were unable to view the site, buy merchandise, etc. On what's supposed to be the most important night of the TNA calendar, I'd call that bad news.
There was a time in WCW when wrestlers would walk toward the ring on a long ramp leading straight at the ring. I thought that was very inventive. I know that TNA is not set up for such a thing but why doesn't the WWE instill a ramp that leads directly toward the ring?
It's simply something that WCW (and at times, ECW) did that WWE doesn't. I'm sure it's simply a production decision.
During the late 50's early 60's, blacks were restricted to using their own bathrooms, eat at restaurants that catered to, forgive me, colored people and ride buses that took blacks only. Was there ever any African American wrestler, male or female, restricted to wrestling only wrestlers who were themselves African Americans? In other words, was there ever a time where black wrestlers weren't allowed to wrestle wrestlers who were white? If my questions seem offensive, insulting or out of line in any way, I deeply and sincerely apologize. No offense was intended, please believe that.
While there was certainly a large amount of prejudice (or as I call it, stupidity) during that time period, I've never heard of any stories where African-American and white performers weren't allowed to compete in a wrestling ring together.
I've a couple of questions, regarding TNA PPV's, hope you can help. They've had few pay-per-views in locations other than "the impact zone" studio in Florida. I recall one outside of Detroit, St. Louis, Nashville, etc, plus last night's in suburban Atlanta. How big are these venues? What's the biggest venue that's hosted them, and how were ticket sales? When they have the PPV's at their home base, do they charge admission, or is it just one of the park attractions, like their Impact tapings?
One thing at a time. When TNA runs PPVs at Orlando, they do not charge admission. Outside of Orlando, the largest venue they've run is the Gwinnet Arena in Georgia just outside of Atlanta. My estimation is that the company drew 4,000 to the show. The company seems to run several thousand when they run outside of Orlando, although I don't know the percentage of paid vs. comp tickets.
I was watching the movie "Cars" with my daughter the other day when something caught my eye. As the ending credits were rolling I happened to look up as the special contribution credits were on. The first person thanked in the state of Oklahoma was listed a Jim Ross, Arcadia OK. I was just curious if this was perhaps, Good Ole JR?
I don't believe it was the same person.
