Is Panda Energy the biggest money marks in the history of wrestling?
Absolutely not. To me, money marks are people who run shows to hang around with the wrestlers and try to feel like they are part of the business. Panda has invested a lot of money into TNA, and reportedly lost a lot too. But they haven't done so to be marks, they have done it with the ultimate goal of running a profitable wrestling company. I applaud what they are doing because it would be a lot easier for them to just throw in the towel, but they keep trying. As a wrestling fan, I appreciate that, especially at a time when WWE would be the only game in town if they shut down TNA.
Since John Cena went down with a right pectoral injury that will sideline him for months, wwe.com put out a ballot with all the Raw wrestlers on it and asked the fans to vote for their favorite wrestler as the next wwe heavyweight champion. Only 3 wrestlers have double digit results as I write this e-mail and the results are shocking. Mr. Kennedy has 10% of the vote, HHH has 20% of the vote and the wrestler that is WAY AHEAD on this WWF/E poll is VAL VENIS?!?!? I have seen Val wrestle live and have met him. I have said many times that Val should not be on the shelf waiting for creative to do something with him. The wrestling fans want Val Venis back in the spotlight!! Venis is a 2x Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion, European Heavyweight Champion and World Tag Team Champion. Do you think Vince will read his own poll and merchandise and make Val Venis WWF/E Heavyweight Champion?? Do the writers at PWInsider.com think that Val Venis is underrated and deserves to be in the main spotlight again?
Where Vince is concerned, no, he won't pay attention to a website poll. With that said, he shouldn't since WWE.com polls are notorious for returning really odd numbers. Let's just say I take the results from their polls with a mine of salt, not a grain. As for Val, I think he is a good worker in the ring and a solid promo guy. I would like to see him get a push again but the Val Venis character is old and tired. I think they should repackage him and push him as a mid card guy. I don't see him as a World or WWE champion, but I do think they could get a lot more out of him than they do, which is a familiar story with WWE creative. Given their lack of talent right now, I don't see why they wouldn't give Venis another shot.
Is Ken Kennedy in trouble or will he be for John Cena being hurt?
I have not heard that he is and frankly, there is no reason for him to take the blame for it. It was a freak injury and he did nothing to make it occur. Cena just must have had a weak pec and it tore doing a very basic move (which he was the one doing). Kennedy had nothing to do with it.
Does Mick Foley have heat with Vince or Stephanie? This came to mind looking at the recent pics posted from Foley's Special Olympics visit.... he looks leaner than he has in awhile... I've heard interviews where he's stated he'd like to be back on TV... what's the problem?? Considering the lack of star power, ability to elicit emotion from the fans, and the steroid inquiry problems.... wouldn't Foley (one could hardly think he was "on the gas") be a huge help on all fronts?? His value may have dropped slightly with the multiple comebacks but, having him as a regular part of the show to help build stars would be awesome.
He doesn't have any heat that I know of. I think it's more a case of it being hard for WWE to put Foley in a top position because he hasn't wanted to commit to a full time schedule. Ever since he "retired" he has spent most of his time doing things outside of the ring and hasn't wanted to be a touring wrestler. I don't know that his feeling about that has changed. I would think that if he were to commit to a full time schedule, WWE would gladly use him more.
I would like to say that I am very happy that I joined the Elite Site. Thank you for all the hard work that you and your wonderful staff do. I have been a fan of wrestling for close to 3 decades now, and I have actually grown to like John Cena. True, he does not have the best set of moves, but he does give it his all night in and night out. I know that there are many that did not like to fact that he has held the title as long as he has (personally I like that instead of all the hotshot title changes that the WWE has had). With that being said, do you see the WWE putting the title back on Cena upon his return? Again thank you for all the great information on the site, and I look forward to being a subscriber for many years to come.
First off, thank you for your support. Our Elite members keep this site in business and we wouldn't be here without all of you. Now, on to your question.
At this point in time, WWE still has John Cena at the top of their plans. Obviously, he has many months of rehab ahead and creative in the company can, and probably will, change many times before he makes his return. So, it's impossible to say right now if he will get the belt back immediately upon his return. But, if he comes back healthy, I think it's safe to say it's a matter of time until he gets the belt back.
In response to a question last week, James Guttman sent this. ... Just wanted to drop a line after seeing your Q and A on wrestler interviews. Damian Demento only did one interview recently and that was with WorldWrestlingInsanity.com (although we sent out two separate press releases on statements he made.) Damian hasn't been working any shows for a while and I came into contact with him after discovering his artwork on Youtube. We wrote back and forth for a few weeks before finally setting it up. For the record, Demento's first and only audio interview was with our site. I just wanted to clear up any confusion. You can see his work on Youtube under the name TheOriginalDemento.
