PWINSIDER Q&A: TNA CREATIVE TEAM, HOLDING OFF ON JERICHO'S RETURN AND MORE

Do you think it is wise for WWE to debut Chris Jericho at No Mercy or hold it off for Cyber Sunday? Personally, I think it is too early for No Mercy, the saveus222 needs more build. If these promos are indeed for Jericho, it would make sense, as he did the same thing pretty much with the countdown promos in 99. But, there was much more hype/build and the announcers even talked about it. The announcers are yet to even acknowledge saveus222. So, even though Cena is out, do you think they should hold off for Cyber Sunday for more build?

Nope.  WWE is in a bad situation right now, both in terms of talent and ratings.  If they want to turn things around, they need to act now.  Normally, I am all for the long build, but WWE needs to get rolling now, and they would be insane to keep Jericho off television for another month when they can have him now.

Why did Chris Jericho re-sign with the WWE? Loyalty? Money? What was the deciding factor for Jericho to go back to the WWE instead of signing with TNA? Doesn't Jericho live in Florida? If he had joined TNA, he would remain close to his family. So why WWE?

You'd have to ask Jericho, but I would think you have to look at the big picture.  WWE most likely would enable Jericho to make more money in a shorter period of time.   Sure, the TNA schedule is attractive, but would you rather work five times a month for two years, or three times a week for a lot less? If Jericho's plan is to make some money and then go back into retirement, WWE is the way to go.  As for location, it's not like Jericho was sitting at home during his time away from the ring.  He was often in New York, Los Angeles or on the road with his band.  I don't know about loyalty, but WWE did treat Jericho very well during his time there, and left on very good terms with Jericho putting John Cena over huge on the way out. .

Hi guys, great job with the site. A couple days ago I was watching a match between Antonio Inoki and Mr. Saito from 1987. For some reason (the commentary was all in Japanese so I had no idea what was going on, other than the match), the match took place in an island with no referee and no fans in attendance. Do you have any idea what the storyline was? Why did it take place? Why was it in an island? And the one thing I’m most curious about, how LONG was the match? The DVD showed about 27 minutes of it, but it’s obvious it took several hours to complete, I’m curious if anyone kept a stopwatch on it. By the way, other than the blood and gore, the match was horrible in my opinion.

The idea was that the only way to end the long-running Inoki-Saito rivalry was a "Island Death" match, which in all honesty was about creating a cool visual for television and video.  The match itself was supposed to "start at dawn" and last for hours, but in truth, you probably saw the whole match.  They just made it look like it was longer.  Oh, and it did suck.

While not really a wrestling related question this is worth asking. When you do your top 10 billboard rental chart one thing I noticed is the 2001 FedEx Orange Bowl National Championship. Why is that always making the list? The game was so long ago and it wasn't even that close of a game or really memorable.

You have to realize that when it comes to Recreational Sports Videos, it isn't like there is a slew of new releases every week, and sometimes a title only needs to pull in above-average sales to make it on the list.  In some cases, if a major retail chain puts a title on sale, it will suddenly reenter the chart.

Who exactly is responsible for the content we see every week on TNA Impact?

The TNA Creative team for the past year has been made up of Jeff Jarrett, Dutch Mantel and Vince Russo.
