PWINSIDER Q&A: BIAS FOR CM PUNK?, LACEY VON ERICH, BATISTA VS, HHH IN 2007 AND MORE

I feel Lacey Von Erich is going to be a target of the internet marks right off the bat. I think WWE is going to rush her up on the roster when she is not ready and expect her to be a Von Erich. She is going to have a lot riding on her shoulders because every wrestling fan of this generation has only heard of the legendary Von Erich's and probably only seen them on tapes and are very anxious to finally see one. Your thoughts?

I don't see her as being a target for anyone but fans who are oogling her for being a beautiful woman.  She's training now so it's not like we have any idea how adept she is in the ring.  She may turn out to be the next Trish Stratus or she may end up in a hot, non-wrestling role like Layla El is in, with very little clothes and even less in-ring time.  Time will tell and it's unfair to predict anything at this point.

Why are you taking sides with CM Punk regarding the ECW World Title? I know, John Morrison was suspended because of a violation of the wwe-wellness-programm. But, why shouldn't he be champion again, when coming back from his absence? I'm not saying anything against Punk, but ECW on SciFi became Morrison-World in recent weeks and months. I believe, Punk wasn't supposed to be champion anyway at this time, so what has he proved (in your opinion), that makes him better than Morrison (other than WWE wellness)?

I don't think we've taken sides at all, but when you have a strong in-ring performer with great promo abilities who's never been accused, much less caught of doing something illegal and being suspended, it seems to be common sense that is who should be rewarded for his diligence, as opposed to the one who's just embarrassed the company and himself professionally.  Morrison is a great performer but that doesn't excuse what he did and doesn't make him any less guilty of someone who's a poor performer doing the same thing.  As far as Punk, I'm a big fan of his work and think he deserves a shot at stardom.  That's not to say Morrison won't deserve one again but all this hot potato-style of switching the title makes it look beyond lame and hurts not just Punk, but Morrison as well.  If the plan is to get it back on Morrison, fine, but build to it over a length of time, don't just hand it back to him the second he's legally allowed to return to the roster, as has been deeply discussed creatively.

I would love to see Batista jump to Raw if and when Triple H becomes the champion to relive their feud. Think it will ever happen?

Actually, it could be more likely than you think.  As we reported on the PWInsider.com Elite Hotline weeks ago, Batista was among the names Bonnie Hammer requested back on Raw in a regular role to help with the ratings, along with The McMahon family and stooges, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho and Sable, so since we've seen some of these names pop up, Batista could be a possibility.  I think HHH vs. Batista could be interesting with the face/heel dynamic reversed, but beyond that's it's been done before.

Given the recent findings in the Chris Benoit case involving his brain damage, do you think that WWE may change their stance somewhat in showing future clips or Benoit or maybe even an eventual (very far down the line) Hall of Fame induction or do you feel they will ardently hold to their current stance in attempt to take as little or no blame as possible, being that his many concussions were obviously suffered during wrestling matches or do you have a different take entirely?

They are never going to induct him and that's the reality of the situation, no matter what happens in the course of the investigation.

I thought Christopher Daniels was going to have a single heel run but after the angle where Sting squashed him in their match he's back with XXX, does TNA not believe in him?

TNA decided against pushing Daniels as a top heel and opted to slide him back into XXX.
