Here is the current card for this Sunday's WWE Vengeance PPV:
- WWE Champion John Cena vs. King Booker vs. Mick Foley vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Randy Orton.
- World Champion Edge vs. Batista in a "Last Chance Match" which basically means Batista gets no more title shots.
- Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella vs. Umaga.
- United States Champion MVP vs. Ric Flair.
- World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. The Hardys.
- Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero vs. Jimmy Wang Yang.
- Women's Champion Melina vs. Candice Michelle.
- The winners of tonight's Chris Benoit vs. Elijah Burke and CM Punk vs. Marcus Cor Von matches will meet for the vacant ECW Title.
- WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce & Domino will defend their title. Looking at the Smackdown roster, the only "regular" tag team is the Major Brothers, so it will either be them, or WWE is going to put together a new unit tonight.
The Charlotte Observer has an article online hyping tonight's Smackdown taping and ECW broadcast. In addition to pointing out that this will be a Charlotte homecoming for Ric Flair, the article also had this gem, which cracked me up: "WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon appeared to go out "Sopranos"-style in a limo explosion June 11. What's next for his wrestling empire? More tributes? A murder mystery? A haunting?" I'm thinking Vince coming back as a ghost would be pretty entertaining. He could appear before Jonathan Coachman like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. Click here to see the article.
The NFL is holding their first league-wide summit on concussions today, with all team doctors and trainers attending to hear from experts on the topic. Former WWE star Chris Nowinski will be one of the experts at the summit.
