My favorite three Intercontinental champions would have to be Randy Savage, Bret Hart, and Honkytonk Man. Savage's character was awesome as a secondary champion and he had great matches with Ricky Steamboat, Bruno Sammartino, and Tito Santana as well as an entertaining feud with George Steele. Honkytonk was the greatest heel to ever hold a title in my opinion, at least in the vein of wanting to see him finally get his head handed to him. His character was the epitome of someone the fans saw as "not deserving" his title and I can remember many a WWF house show watching the crowd want to kill him. Bret Hart was phenomenal as the champion with credibility and legitimacy during his IC title runs. Other favorite IC champions for me personally were Shawn Michaels' first heel run in 1992-1993 where he was a bumping machine and made everyone look great and Mr. Perfect, who was a tremendous talent that unfortunately had his run curtailed by back injuries.
With this new feud between Hector Guerrero and Konnan, do you think TNA is going to have Hector take over LAX as the manager for the new face turn and give Konnan the rest he probably should of had months ago, and maybe coming back with a new wrestler to manage?
I haven't heard of any plans for Guerrero to become involved in the LAX faction.
Why is Giant Baba remembered so fondly when guys from that era are interviewed e.g. Chris Benoit from his DVDE, the Patriot, etc? What was his contributions to the biz and would he ever wind up in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Baba won't ever be in the WWE Hall of Fame. He's very much respected because when he was running All Japan Pro Wrestling, his word was as good as gold and he took care of the performers in a way that most promoters, past, present, and future never cared to do. He was not a great in ring performer, but by the same token, never kept himself anywhere on top of the card, either when it was time to step aside. He ran a straight forward wrestling first product and took care of everyone who was part of his product.
I was just reading the lineup for the SNME and noticed that the name Batista is trademarked and Chris Benoit is registered. I am just guessing that this is by WWE and not the individuals that marked it. How can this be if those two respective names are their real names? Can WWE own someone's real name?
Batista isn't Dave Bautista's real name. If he was to leave WWE, he'd have to change the spelling to his real name in order to continue use. Benoit wouldn't have that issue. WWE can trademark a real name, but only during the period that person is employed by them and when they leave, the trademark goes with them.
Hey Guys love the site. I was just wondering what your take is on this guy claiming to have played the Ultimate Warrior on house shows and tv on the east coast. He says he goes by the name of One Warrior Nation. He also claims there was a 3rd person who has since passed away. I found the video clip on youtube and went to the site. They have "research" showing "proof" as well as an interview with the guy claiming to be One Warrior Nation.
There's no validity to the claims. I would expect Warrior will likely legally oppose those claims once he gets around to it.
