I have a problem with the name New Breed as an old time NWA fan. New Breed was a goofy tag team that started feuding with the Road Warriors and than abruptly disappeared. Who was in the tag team and whatever happened to them?
The New Breed were Chris Champion & Sean Royal. Their NWA run was cut short due to Royal suffering an arm injury. Royal ended up retiring soon after and went into the construction business. Champion later revamped his look and had a brief run in WCW as Yoshi Kwan.
I've never been a fan or watched TNA before but I turned on to see the Jay Lethal gimmick as I'm a big Randy Savage fan and it was absolutely hilarious and I actually then was very impressed with the rest of the show. My question is do you think TNA will bring in Randy Savage anywhere down the line and bring him into the storyline and why do you think Savage isn't currently involved in wrestling? His website has been "coming soon" for months now and I've not heard any updates on whether the 2007 VH1 Surreal Life, he was going to be apart of, is going ahead.
I have heard of no plans to bring Randy Savage in as part of the Jay Lethal gimmick. However, if they are going to continue with this parody, they really should consider having the original appear, at least for a cameo, at some point. As for why Savage isn't currently involved in wrestling, he is 53 years old, and if he financially doesn't need to wrestle, there really is no reason for him to pursue it. His TNA stint wasn't exactly memorable, so I don't know how much of a demand there is to have Savage wrestling regularly at this point. As for the Surreal Life, or any other outside wrestling projects, only Savage knows those answers.
My second question is, why does Jim Ross seem to blatantly lie on his BBQ website making out he didn't know about the Lawler vs. Hogan situation and that Lawler wasn't bothered about the match. He said something along the line of the King isn't that bothered about it and has barely mentioned it which I guess is a shot at Hogan trying to make the match look small time.
I don't know how you can say Jim Ross was lying on his website. Ross wrote, and I quote, "I assume the King is probably disappointed for the false start, so to speak, with this booking in his hometown, but he did not seem overly upset to me when he called me a day or two ago." If Ross says that Lawler didn't seem upset to him, then that is his view of the situation. Also, just because Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler work together once a week doesn't mean they have extensive knowledge of what they are doing the other six days of the week. If Ross wanted to rip on Hogan, he's just go ahead and do it.
Do you know how well the Hogan Memphis event is selling? If it's not doing well do you think it will be cancelled?
According to Brian Tramel, who contacted the FedEx Forum where the event is being held 1,500 tickets have been sold so far, for a gate of over $70,000. At this point, the event looks to be happening, and it isn't unimaginable that they could pull in another 1,000 fans by the time the event takes place. How Hogan's ego (which sometimes seems to be connected to his bad knee) will react to wrestling for less than three thousand fans remains to be seen.
With all the talk of WHY people are booing Cena, why is nobody thinking that maybe people are just doing it cause it’s “cool†right now? I remember a few years back when word got out that security was removing signs that said “ Rocky Suxâ€ÂÂÂÂ, suddenly everyone had a sign that said that… Could it be the same deal?
I'm sure there are "copycat" fans that boo Cena just because "everyone else is doing it". However, something else has to be sparking the fans that begin the chants. It doesn't become "cool" unless other people are doing it to begin with.
